  • Healing process over 9 monthts after injury

this post is supposed to help anyone with a recent injury who is naturally worried and trying to find some useful information.

i remember very well that i was in a state of utter panic and devastation. a post like i am going write now would or could have helped tremendously.

my injury was very unique and unlucky and you probably won't find your symptoms or the same thing that you experienced. yet you should read this. because if you can't beat the hell that i went through, meaning if your injury and what happened after are not worse, then you will very very likely be fine. the healing process just takes a very long time and has ups and downs that you may need to go through.
when i researched the internet for similar stories, i couldn't find any. not one. and at that point i didn't even know what was ahead of me. i just wanted to know if i'm going to be fine.
worst scenario, permament or complete damage. but it seemed that doesn't happen. but i couldn't find shared stories of people who healed over longer periods of time.

especially is it hard to find happy ending injury stories of many months. most of injuries seemed to heal over just a few feeks. this worried me. but it shouldn't worry you. there is no such time limit and some healing needs much more time than we are used to with other injuries.

i posted two threads in the past and then stayed away for months until now. no need to read them, really, but here are the links to those threads and posts:

    https://www.pegym.com/forums/penile-...eels-dead.html
    https://www.pegym.com/forums/penile-...-yourself.html

so i injured myself severly while stretching about over nine months ago because i was reckless. i thought nothing can happen while stretching because most warnings only consider jelqing. wrong. jelqing injuries seem to happen more often or likely, but i think what happened to me is much worse than most of what i've read.

i stretched my penis with a lot of force to the upper left side, and then it snapped. this may confuse you... how can i flaccid penis snap. well it did, because it felt brutal and i immediately stopped and wondered. there was no pain and the snap wasnt at the top of my shaft where i rolled my penis over my other hand while stretching. the snap happened somewhat behind the root, maybe up to an inch into my body. there was no pain at all, and there was nothing visible. i checked it and took a look for several minutes, there was nothing.. so i assumed that it was nothing bad, but i was wrong.
unfortunately my first thought turned out to be correct. in the first moment of the incident i knew that something really bad happened. like something got detached inside.

next time i woke up i could feel the weird lack of sensation the first moment i opened my eyes. if you lose feeling of your penis you can weirdly feel it. it's just so obvious since it's so different than from what you're used to, even if you don't feel anything. it was total horror freak show and i was in panic mode from that morning on. but i still managed to keep cool. this is going to be fine in a couple of days i thought.

i'm not the kind of person who freaks out easily.. i don't run to doctors or take any medicine, these are the last things that i would do.
after about one or two weeks i went to a urologist. at this point i wasn't cool at all and feared for my life because i was worried of permanent total damage.
of course the doctor prescribed viagra and couldn't see any problem.

i went to many doctors. none of them helped me or could help me. they learn that nothing can happen to a flaccid penis and they stick to this no matter how or in what way you tell them that something is wrong. tests are useless. as long as they can't see the damage with their eyes and the test show results of blood flow within a range of what is considered normal, your words to a doctor do not matter. because there is no way to compare it to what was it like before.
each of my visits was extremely frustrating. i am writing this to spare you the same waste of time and humiliation. modern medicine and doctors are not set or equipped to be able to help you with an injury like this. i can't even blame them that much. it is much much worse than you could ever imagine. you only know how bad this is if you experienced the same.

anyways, so the bad news is doctors can't help, and i believe any kind of medicine won't make a difference. the good news is your body doesn't need any of that. it can heal, and it will. with time. just eat healthy and get enough sleep.

so i was completely impotent for two weeks. my penis did not feel like a penis. it was surreal. it simply had no sexual function at all. after a few weeks when i tried to get an erection i managed to get it to some degree with a lot of stimulation with my hand. this was enough for me to be certain it would get back to normal. a couple of weeks later when i was able to masturbate and orgasm i thought i had the worst behind me. i did not. the real horror show started after that.

after about two months the skin on the top of my penis started to change its colour and touch. it got darker with a tone of purple or blue and felt like leather after a while. then one day noticed varicose veins on the top also, vessels that i had never seen before, which were definetely not there or visible before. i went to the hospital with this, but as already mentioned, it wasn't taken seriously. vessels like that are normal they would say. after more weeks past my complete penis was surrounded with this old skin.

and then after about five months my scrotum started to feel different. yes. first i thought this can not happen. please. i must be imagining this, this is simply impossible. please no more, please. but slowly my scrotum felt lighter. at the end of the six month mark my scrotum felt like just half of its weight. it wasn't my testies, but it was the skin that got softer and thinner, and as if the tissue surrounding the testicles would degenerate. i couldn't understand how this was even possible now, but the skin of the scrotum, as i researched, is connected to the skin of the penis in many ways. i mean there are several layers that are directly connected. so now i had to worry about my scrotum and my balls aswell?

i think that (the skin) of my penis couldn't receive enough blood to be healthy because there were blocked or damaged vessels, or whatever. maybe a damaged ligament just blocked those nerves and vessels, who knows. it's just horrible to not know and be unable do anything about it. i must have damaged an area which is responsible for the supply of my genitals. i guess the worst place to injur yourself is the root of your penis.

by the middle of january my scrotum would be darker too and felt uncomfortable all the time. i had to change position every few minutes when i was traveling, i couldn't even sit. guess what a doctor told me: it is normal of the scrotum to react to cold and such, bla bla bla. like i had never observed how my scrotum reacted before. these motherfucking doctors, really... some of them i wanted to punch in the face.

my scrotum when hanging low had more the form of a sand glass because the tissue on the top of the scrotum was either gone or very weak. i believe this was also fat tissue or whatever muscle tissue that there is. it slowly seemed to degenerate.
this process remained about six to eight weeks. it was the worst. i thought due to nerve damage all that tissue is going to degenerate over time.

just imagine these changes. take a moment and imagine. my sexual organs aged 40 years within 4 months. i was in a state of anxiety like this for more than half a year.

i forgot to mention the itching of my penis and the scrotum that started in january. very uncomfortable to say the least. there was also tingling and tweaking every now and then around my penis. i took these as positive signs of possible healing. i welcomed anything other than total numbness.

around the middle of february my scrotum finally stabilised a little. since then i see and feel positive process.

at the beginning of march i started to feel more of those tiny little signals of comfort that you can feel when you get aroused, even without an erection. erections got better step by step each week throughout everything else and felt more and more like i remember them from before my injury.
during march my scrotum seemed to get stable again.

i was incredibly happy to see each of the positive turnarounds. most of the time things got worse and i didn't see something to get better to be even possible. that isn't how healing is supposed to happen, is it? i have no clue what my body is doing. but it seems to know what it is doing.

now after almost nine and a half months i am at the point where i can not only have erections sometimes, but again have an erection at any time, like before the injury.
    feels good.

i'm very happy to be able to write these words, really.

i don't know if the skin of my penis and scrotum will go back to normal, i just hope so. as long as sexual functions are fine, i'm okay.

i deeply, deeply regret that i injured myself like this and the way it happened. it practically cost me a year of my life. just one moment that can change your life like that. i still cannot believe this happened to me. but it seems i'm going to be okay.

so i hope this is helpful to someone. pretty sure noone has my particular kind of injury or the symptoms i experienced. but aslong as you don't suffer worse, you should be fine.

there is not much worse that can happen to a man than a penis injury. but it heals.

Did you have to lye around alot? Do you have a CPAP machine? When did the regeneration stop? Did the injury rip heal rip heal rip heal? How did you know when you kicked it in the butt ? Was there a finite limit to how much it tingled? Any tips...

Good and positive story, thank you for sharing!
What you describe looks just like my situation, and it's very likely that the reason of that is nerve damage and neuropathy pain. It is possible to damage nerves by stretching.

          - i have numb penis -> than numb scrotum, terrible ED, terrible HF
          - skin on penis change color to darker, dry and old looking after 3-4 months -> ichy and red painful skin on scrotum and legs (i could not even sleep for 6 months have to use lidocaine pathes)

It was 3 years ago (time goes really quick...), i have some positive results (almost no more neoropathy pain now) but still fighting with numb penis and ED (now EQ is better, but far away from good). Later i will post my story.

What i could advice you - be veeeery accurate with pelvic stretches, do just lightest one if you want (my scrotum got numb after agressive glute stretches).
My neurologist advice was 2g of omega 3 every day for a long time (6+months) get testo levels to maximum and wait.

Can you post your story please? How did you damage it? Do you have more numbness in the glans or shaft? Loss of sensitivity? How long before it got better? Did you have a smaller, skinnier flaccid or turtling?

I never "had to" to lye around but at times anything was uncomfortable. lying and sitting were both fine aslong as i was home and could scratch my scrotum or penile skin. when sitting my scrotum got very sweaty, it was just wet. any kind of temperature regulation was simply off, the tissue responsible for it was either gone or inactive. at the time it just looked like the tissue degenerated with no possible positive outcome or regenaration. i could not believe my eyes looking at it. but i just recently see the best positive turnaround of this problem.. the tissue seems to come back or gets stronger again. the main reason why i decided to post again is in fact this incredible process that i did not expect.. otherwise and over the months before i wasn't even able to write about anything, i had no hope and i was just fucked.
i noticed the change of my scrotum about five monthts into my injury, before my scrotum did not change. it then seemed to change rapidly and kept going down for about three to four months until it stabilsed. the "degeneration" was very slow and horrible to witness. it took about four to six weeks, same as when my penis skin started to change and got thinner. i expect it to get back to normal or regenerate with the same speed or even slower. the skin of my penis also seems to feel softer and thicker again.
god damn, i'm so happy. i hoped so much that one day i can share these experiences exactly from where i am now: healing.

i don't know what you mean with rip heal rip heal.

the tingling was minimal and i almoist never experienced that. what i had was extreme shots of itching which started in january, so about 6 months after the injury. try to scratch on numb skin, it's awful, especially my skin was like leather. the itching was annoying and happened every now and then at all times, randomly about 4-5 times a day.
at the moment this is decreasing day by day. my scrotum feels and looks great again.

you asked for any tips. that is exactly the problem. you can not really do anything and that feels horrible. we are used to think that if you don't do anything you will regret it later because what is supposed to happen doesn't happen. but that is not the case when it comes to healing. your body will do it for you and you can't influence this process, you can just help it by sleeping and eating and relaxing as much as you can and waiting.

the skin problem can take up to two years to get back to normal is what several doctors told me by the way.

i had at no point any real pain whatsoever. sometimes i felt some discomfort which felt a little bit like pain but it was nothing. i welcomed anything but numbness and imagined it to be part of healing, which now i think it was.

but the change of skin seems similar, but my skin changed after about 6-7 weeks after my injury. it was dark, dry, old, thin. but no pain. just numbness. later itching.
my scrotum never went numb. it just went empty as if the tissue within it degenerated. i never went to a neurologist. one of the urologists told me that they can't do shit, they can't even really test the dorsal nerve, and i believed him, it made sense. the only thing i took was viagra or similar stuff to increase blood flow since it made sense that could improve healing. but that fucked up my overall blood circulation...

if you see positive change so long after your injury you should expect more of it. i hope you continue to get better over time like i did.

Johnny1 did you ever have regression? Like getting gains on healing just to lose them the next day? If so, how did/do you deal with that. Update if possible to keep us informed.

yes i had regressions. there are ups and downs. i did not accept them or understood it was normal. so the way i dealt with them was freaking out each time more and more because they did not make any sense.
we are used to an injury to heal with a clear positive tendency. this is not the case with an injury like this, when your body needs to regulate and re-organise nerves and vessels. it's also the most unique organ which is more sensitive and complex than much of the rest. right? so dont freak out if healing is weird, slow, and different from what you are used to.
these changes are extremly slow, so you can develop the weirdest side effects. at least i did. the healing gains however increased while the regression decreased slowly. checking the healing process daily is useless.. the process develops over weeks and months.

but you seem to need numbers. my worst months were from months 5 to 7, even though erections got slowly better.
the first time i was really comfortable in my healing process with significant sensation recovery of the feeling of pleasure while having an erection (this was off and not stable for over six monthts / my penis did not feel pleasure even with erections) was at the end of months 7.

i remeber thinking after three months (when there wasnt any process going for a while) okay im fucked there is no hope. at least i can get erections somehow and i can fuck...

but a few months later i'm much better that i could imagine at some point. this is a rollercoaster
