  • 24, terrible hard-flacid.

I'm 24, overweight and my job involves standing all day. I take horny goat weed, ginko, ginsing and multi-vitamins as well as Glucosamine.

I've probably masturbated daily, multiple times, since I was about 14. Since 18 or so, I had begun to rapidly lose my erection angle and today at 24, it points at my feet and doesn't feel like it is getting all the way firm, especially around the glans. Sometimes while masturbating I've felt that there is a "bubble" that forms up the side, I'm guessing that some of the vessels may be leaking.

I've seen a urologist who felt it was simply a thrombosed vein but he never did any tests, it was more or less conversational.

I think I would rate my ED as 80% hardness, with regular failures.

What makes things worse is I lost my virginity in 2010, and the first attempt had me unable to get hard at all. That still haunts me. I am able to get erections firm enough for sex, but they pretty much fail immediately any time I am not directly stimulated.

I honestly think my biggest "loss" was after a period of trying some jelging, probably improperly. I also have been trying to do some PC muscle work, but it hasn't helped me point up from my feet or restore firmness.

Some of it seems mental too, I've heard if you have ED and do get an erection strong enough for sex, and you are premature, it's often mental issues causing you to distract yourself from arousal.

What should I do from here?

Should I go back to the doctor and request any sort of tests?

Having admitted I really haven't given myself a day off in so many years, will a week/month of not messing with it make much difference?

Thanks in advance, I'm sorry for the lack of structure and rambling nature of the post... I just haven't felt good about myself since my last girlfriend.

What kind of pelvic floor muscle routine did you do? How many times/day, days/week, and for how many weeks?

I'm have some EQ issues too. I've spent way too much time scouring the web for info, and the best hope I've gotten was on pelvic floor (what you termed PC) exercises. The data on their efficacy is very good, only thing is it takes time and dedication to a routine. For most it takes months to see significant improvement, but it gives 40-50% of men back their regular erections. I'm only a 1.5 weeks into my PF routine and I have seen some improvement (I woke up with a boner--albeit not a stiffy, but I was still pleased--2 days ago for the first time in years). If you haven't already tried a regular PF routine for at least a couple months let me know and I'll give you some links and tell you my routine. Good luck.
    Day 1: 2/16/11
    BPEL: 6.5"
    EG: 4.25" g, 4.5" m, 5.0" b
EQ: 5.5 Shaft fairly hard but head deflated. Lost in <10 sec w/o touch.

      Ah, I hadn't really had a plan.

More or less I just tried to clench the muscles that stop you from peeing whenever I had a few spare moments. Please do share the links and information.

I think you're problem is frequent masturbation. Cut down on wacking it and you should see an improvement. If you don't, then it is probably a PC issue as EQr stated

I had heard that abstaining will cause a drop in testosterone, I'm worried about that, but I think that is an excuse because my blood tests show normal T levels :x

I would think with as much masturbation as I'd done that the muscles would be very healthy. In anycase, I'll give both things a shot to see if it improves any.

Well you don't have to necessarily stop masturbating altogether, but maybe get it down to once a day or three times a week if you can. Of course I don't follow any of this, but it would be a good idea to start (I won't, but it's a good idea).

It will only cause a drop after the 6th day of no ejaculation. Even then, if you're levels are normal then it shouldn't effect much. If you work out or do any other physical activities that will cause a rise in your testosterone. Just give it a try and DEFINITELY no masturbation to porn...EVER. I'm being a bit hypocritical but I could barely muster a 60% erection last week while intoxicated, most likely due to my porn use. Albeit, not a ton of porn use but even if you only masturbate once a week and it is to porn you're still conditioning yourself. Just give it a try and if your morning wood doesn't return in a few weeks then let us know.

I can't get erections at all under any amount of alcohol. Strangely enough, I do get morning wood, but I also sleep on my stomach. I wonder if that is because I have something to rub against (which I require to get erect) or it is because when I am sleeping I find that I am more relaxed.

I was reading other posts, and some mention having difficulty at maintaining when standing. This is probably the position I will lose an erection the fastest in. If I am laying or on my hands and knees above someone I am moderately okay, being upright seems to just change the bloodflow in such a way as to coax my erection into softness as soon as it goes without touch for 10 seconds. If I am laying back entirely, my erection can go a minute or more without losing firmness.

I wonder if this indicates a bloodflow problem, and that I may need to get out and do some cardio work to fix myself up. My BMI is about 32 so I just tip from chubby to science-mandated obese. Has weight loss worked out for anyone's erection quality?

Yes, I lost weight and my EQ jumped back up--after a month of jelqing and kegeling. I agree that masturbation has been a big factor in loss of EQ for you. I have gained thirty pounds--180 to 210 pounds, and I have just recently realized that my cock is less visible and is turtling more--retreating into the fat. Shit, shit, shit!! What a downer!!!

Losing your virginity is a hugely stressful situation. I would not worry about it at all. As you lose weight, you will increase the exposed visible penis, which is damn cool, so keep up the good work, man!! Lose that fat around your penis, along with your fat pad, and you will feel a lot better about yourself--and what better way to do this than through a solid cardio regimen.

Most of the hard-flaccid issues turn out to be hormonal. As it stands, I think you're on the right track with the supplements like gingko. They do work, and they can make your penis more soft and spongy. The first thing I would do would be to have him/her to check your free and total testosterone, and possibly estrogen. If the free comes back higher than 500 or so, then you don't have to worry too much about that. I think that if you have truly overmasturbated then a week off should be good enough for that, but if you have damaged yourself doing any type of PE then it could take months. The next test would be for them to check for venous leak and all the problems concerning that. The main thing and I know this is hard to do, just take it easy and don't worry too much about this your penis will return to how it was before I assure you it can and will take time.

Here's the link to one of those articles about PF exercises. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1324914/ Box 1 shows what exercises they did. To start I filled in each blank with 15 second holds. The participants did these every day for 6 months, but I'm starting off every other until I build up some strength.

Here's a couple other articles I found interesting. If you really DO have a venous leak, consider yourself lucky. These studies showed that kegels are particulary effective for those with venous leaks.

I think getting in shape and cutting back on the beatoff sessions is great advice. Combine it with these exercises and I'd say you're attacking your problem from all sides. Good luck.

                          One last question,

Even if my base stuck straight out, with that being 3 o'clock, my tip would be pointing at 4 o'clock because of this arch I have in my erection. It seems to be 3 1/2 inches that I remain straight, then it seems to have a gentle curve for the last 2 1/2 inches. I am wondering if that can be natural, or if that is the sort of thing scar tissue does.

It is sobering to tell but when my fat belly was so big i could not make my erection stand up either. A big belly caused it to point downwards. Fat interferes with circulation. How overweight are you? and have you had your blood pressure checked?

My second number is a little high they say, with blood pressure.

My BMI is 32, with 30 being considered obese. 6 foot with 245 pounds on me, where I should be more around 200 or lower. Endomorphic body shape.
