Hi there, I am a 30 year old male who is in excellent health. I was having some fairly rough sex with my girlfriend about 4 months ago. I was behind her and she bucked back as I was thrusting forward and it happened quickly so it's difficult to say what exactly happened. My penis bent somehow from the base. I believe I damaged or tore my penile suspensory ligament. There was no major bruising (maybe some extremely light bruising which is barely noticeable and now gone). I am still able to get erections but maintaining them without constant stimulation is difficult and I would say I'm only at about 75% of normal function. I went to see my family doctor about it roughly a month after it happened and he said there isn't much point to seeing a urologist because I am still able to get erections. He said it's mostly like a sprain and will take 4-6 weeks to heal. I still have some discomfort 80% of the time especially when sitting and only don't notice it when I get an erection. I have had sex many times since this occurence as well as masturbated frequently. I don't actually notice the discomfort when I'm erect. My questions are:
1 - Should I refrain from any sexual activity until the pain subsides, including masturbation and oral sex?
2 - Is there anything I can take or do to speed up the healing process that's safe? (like exercises or herbs or special diet)
3 - Has anyone else suffered the same type of injury?
4 - How long does it typically take to heal?
5 - Will I recover to my full capabilities or will my erection strength and/or duration decline?
6 - Would this be a tear or some type of stretching damage? How would I know the difference?
7 - Is there a reliable and successful surgery for this?
8 - Any other information you can provide regarding the situation would be greatly appreciated.
Please help me out with this, I am quite discouraged about the damage that may have occurred and I'm asking lots of questions to try and figure out my situation and the best course of action to take. Thank you for all replies.

ok xroadrunnerx, here is what you need to do...
CALM DOWN!!!
I think I have done a similar thing but never really noticed any residual pain, especially given that I was in the middle of sex, and I wasn't about to quit. If you can still masturbate, then I think your ok.
A better question is maybe, "When can I begin to go full on with my PE routine?" and for this I would just say give it 2 weeks and slowly and carefully go from there.
And for god's sake, don't even THINK about surgery on your damn ding dong, OUCH and YIKES to that!!!

There seems to be a rash of these kinds of posts lately, so I'm going to direct the original poster to read the sticky at the top of this forum as instructed: https://www.pegym.com/forums/erectil...ting-here.html

Thanks for the responses thus far. I actually did read Big Al's posts on injuries and the thread about "read here before posting." But neither of those quite answer the questions I have posed. I had rested my penis for 3 weeks after the occurrence with no erections induced on my behalf, only natural morning wood. But still, the slight pain and discomfort persist. Should I rest it longer again? Is there anything I can take that's natural to help speed the healing process and recovery time? Any extra information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Heat, rest, and suppleenting with arnica, L-Arginine, and other blood flow enhancers will help. If you've been suffering pain for 3 weeks despite preventative measures, then you should see a specialist.

I have quite similar symptoms after doing some improper stretches... Not as much chronic pain as you, but the exact same erection problems. I really hope your doctor's diagnosis is accurate for the both of us. Any update on your condition?

Hi there need-some-advice472,
I've taken the advice of the posts on here and researched things a bit more. I have improved a lot. I would say 90-95%. I have been heat wrapping, doing kegel exercises and doubling up on my dosage of vitamin E. I as well gave little buddy a couple weeks off of everything (that was torture, holy, don't realize how much you miss it until you're not doing it). After that, I took the L-arginine supplement for 30 days and kept up with kegel exercises. I'm doing well now and back in action. One of the main problems I noticed is my thinking about it. The more you think about it and focus on the negative aspects, the worse it will become. Erections seem to be 80% mental, 20% physical. It took a while, probably 4-5 months, but my injury seemed somewhat serious. I didn't take immediate steps either to recover. I kept having sex and masturbating, so my penis never got any rest, which is exactly what it needed. I hope this helps. Do your research on it and you'll be better in no time flat. Cheers.

Hey mate...I know it's been a long time since you logged your last post on this thread, however you seem to be the only one who has similar symptoms to mine.
I feel a sharp pain at the base of my penis. I have gone 3 days without doing anything in terms of masturbating/sex. Not seen any signs of improvement yet. BUt like you, I feel more pain when I sit down and it seems to also create some strange "pains" in my right buttock and leg...
Is it the suspensory ligament?
I am using pain killers and heat pads. Maybe a bit early to say if they are working. What do you recommend?
Have you fully recovered? How long did it take? Was it a full recovery? Hope you can see this and reply...Current/start stats (05/11/09)

Hello all,
I hope you don't mind me bumping this, as it pertains to half of my Intro post (written just hours ago).
I'm curious if any of these members have found resolution and, if so, what treatments.
I'm going to take 2-3 weeks off from masturbation and sex to give my penis time to heal itself (unless a dime tries to get at me, I probably won't be able to resist.) I will also apply gentle stretching and massages every other day, using methods retrieved from the Beginner section.
Any update would be greatly appreciated. Hope I'm not acting out of line by bumping this thread.
