  • Extender and hanging

Hey guys, I'm curious to here some opinion on doing both hanging and wearing an extender. I currently wear my extender around 40 hours a week, do light stretches close to six days a week and jelq 3 to 4 times a week. I have time atleast 3 days a week as of now to get in maybe an hour each of those days. You guys think this would put too much tension on the cells and cause injury, or could thus be beneficial?

If you are sure that you are ready for hanging in your routine, start out with light weight like 3-5 lbs.
    Starting stats 7/15/05 -FL 3.750"x FG 2.125", (BPEL 5.250" x EG 3.750")

    Current Stats: 4/16/10 (BPFL 6.500" x FG 5.625"), ( BPEL 7.825" x EG 6.375")

    Goal for 2011 BPEL 9.000" x EG 6.500"
Some people see things, and say, "Why"
I dream of things that never were, and say "Why Not"

Well I did a little bit of hanging before, only for around a month though and I just kind of gave up/didn't have enough time. I hung 3lbs previously for 3 weeks and did 5 lbs for a week and a half. I would cerainly start again at 3 lbs and see how it goes. From what I remember from hanging was a lot of tension that seemed to be on the ligs, with the extender it feels totally different. Anybody do both? Thanks for the caution dustpan

Hey Fisch, I do both. I am doing 6-7 hours a day, 6 days a week extender use and then three times a week hanging 5 pounds for 30 to 45 minutes each day. I am including clamp/squeeze work as well three times a week. I think the extender is great for slowly stretching the cells in the shaft but as you know puts no stress on the ligaments in the base where weights really do.

Yeah Squid, you're the only person I knew that did both. If I do incorporate hanging it would be similar to what you do. But yeah, I just feel lately that my ligs haven't been getting much a workout. How long have you been on this routine? Any negative PI's you've experienced?
