The only way to really know is to test and see what you prefer as both methods have advantages/disadvantages with equally loyal practitioners in either camp. I personally find compression hanging to be a bit too primitive and brutal on the anatomy for my taste.

I agree with Stealth Rep., but of course I'm biased and have a dog in the fight when it comes to what type of weight hanging device is the safest and best. There's plenty of history on this forum that you can research. Pro's and Con's or as I like to call them "positive attributes & negative traits".
The one and only negative trait of vacuum based systems is the potential for a blister, which if you choose the right system and follow the instructional advice you will avoid the potential blister. Unfortunately many men fail to follow that advice and like the adage goes "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result". They try to use too much weight too soon, hang for too long of a duration, use too much vacuum pressure or a combination of all of those things.
Compression clamp hanging has numerous negative side effects. The most prevalent is nerve damage which leads to erectile disfunction. Excessive skin stretch that will inevitably produce a "turkey neck" or wad of bubble gum flesh under the frenulum area, and stretch marks. They have a steep learning curve that the vast majority of men will never be able to master. Plus they are very uncomfortable, and can only be worn for a short period of time without compromising blood flow / circulation. When I was testing one I was gritting my teeth and watching the clock, and couldn't wait to get it off my penis!
But don't take my word for it, they're very inexpensive, buy one and try it out. Be sure to let all of us know what your experience was like.-Foldus,
