Hey guys, I have been doing a beginners routine of Jelqing and some manual stretching for a couple of weeks now and I have not noticed any gains. 4-5 days a week. I wanted to know when would be a good time to start hanging? Also could anybody tell me more about hanging? It seems to be the best and more permanent gains come from that no?
Also I want lentgh the most but girth would be nice too. But should I only focus on length and not do any 440s or ulis? Would they hinder length gains?
Thanks

Read the links in my signature to learn about hanging. Hanging 101 is a good start.
Wait on 440s and Ulis until you have more experience. They are completely unnecessary this early on, and they are very high injury risk exercises for new guys. Use other more moderate methods for increasing your girth for now... In fact, hopefully you're doing the JP90 or a routine like that.
Once you complete a newbie routine, you can start hanging (of course be sure to study hanging first).

For OTS some guys use a plastic milk jug (or other bit of plastic) with part of it cut off to create stability.... then weight is then literally hung over the shoulder. If a piece of plastic is not used, eventually the weight will cut into your shoulder (the rope, strap, nylon, whatever you're using). Having something (e.g. plastic) to protect your shoulder is helpful.
Mostly, I plan on using OTS to stretch out my bottom shaft skin (so I'll be wrapping my balls). I haven't been able to do this at BTC / SD. You can also try and create the 'see saw effect' by swapping angles too. Don't forget to do BTC / SD maintenance hanging when you swap to OTS, SU, or SO.
Once you're ready, you can eventually switch to fulcrums. (e.g. the RSDT).

Pretty much everyone seems to be able to gain .5" in girth from just jelqs (and some have gained over 1" in girth just from jelqing). I suggest you start out with just the standard manual routine (JP90, see the beginner forum sticky).
Once you've had some experience you can start trying the other girth exercises. The article section of the forum has many exercises listed... I have some listed in my progress journal (see my signature).

If you start hanging, be sure to measure your base girth first (this way you can know for sure whether you gain in that area).
