Thread: Extender - how much tension?

Hey guys, I've read most of the extender threads on this forum but I haven't really found what I'm looking for in terms of an answer. I think the problem is because it seems most guys are using the X4 extender or some other extender that they bought. Mine is homemade. I know a homemade extender probably isn't as safe as one that is professionally made but don't worry, I took my time. It is well built and I've been using it for a couple weeks now and my PI's are all great, better in fact.
So anyway, on to the issue: Because I don't have a professionally made extender I'm finding it difficult to determine what the optimal amount of tension to use is. The only thing I can really go off of is the length of my penis when it is in the extender "stretched" if you will. But even this is hazy, should I be going for the absolute maximum stretch before the amount of pain? Or should I simply equal my flaccid stretched length? Less? Slightly more? What do you guys think?

Someone once recommended using an accurate scale, think high quality pull scale, to test what the tension is at various points of compression of the springs. I assume you are using springs? Otherwise I got nothing.
I would be interested in seeing pics of your extender and a description of how it was made. I love building things myself.

I think you should just get the best comfortable application you can. Decide how long you want to wear the thing at one sitting, and increase the tension until you never survive that long in comfort.
There is no one measured tension number that could ideal for everyone because girth and stuff varies.Foreskin Restoration, PE, Peyronies, and Phimosis solutions are my life's work.

Thanks for the advice guys. It's a pretty simple design but it uses turnbuckles not springs. I "strap in" and then rotate the turnbuckles to stretch further. Just google homemade penis extender and you'll get an idea of what I'm working with, it was some of those images I used for inspiration I guess you could call it. It hasn't been long enough yet to really gauge results but I've been trying to get 6 hours a day in. Usually do 3 then take a break for about half an hour and then do 3 more. I guess I will just keep increasing the tension as long as it's comfortable to wear for those 3 hour periods and hopefully see some results.

Take a photo of yours, since we can't Google your specific extender. You never know, you may have discovered something new. Just saying!

I'm no expert but my device measures the tension well and I do lots of measuring since I'm OCD about it. This is what I've found: First, the length of the penis really doesn't tell you what tension you're at. Allow me to demonstrate:
So my NBPEL is about 6.3". When I'm wearing the extender, sometimes I stretch it to 7.25" to 7.5" even at about 2000g tension.
However-other times, I'm at 2400g and having trouble hitting 7.0"... so be careful in my opinion using that method. I'd say just be really careful, if it starts to hurt, I'd ease up a bit and maybe you can make marks on it or something to track what worked yesterday and so forth. Lastly-when I began, I was really only stretching to about my NBPEL, but I'm in the middle of week 7 now and I'd say for the last 3 weeks anyway, it's been stretching to 7.25" comfortably. Which hopefully means real gains as well! I've definitely already seen some girth gains.

Wow, 2400g that's really high. The most that my dick can tolerate for an hour or more is about 900g. I may have tried 1200+g for 5 or 10 minutes. How long can you keep it at 2400gs?
When you say you can stretch it to 7.5", how are you measuring. I find that when I am fully stretched, the base is pushing in my fat pad most of the way and the skin over the fat pad is now stretched too tight to allow the ruler to be pushed all the way to the bone for a BP measurement. For personal growth calculations, I measure from the outer edge of the base to the tip of my glans. Just curious how others are measuring extended growth.

I don't really like BP so I don't use it. So I measure same as you. Now when in the extender, I go with the fat pad above the base while exhaled (I don't suck it in lol) and then measure to tip so penis and ruler are paralllel.
I can keep it at 2400g for about an hour... think I'm pushing it? I can definitely feel it. But at 2000g as long as it's wrapped right, I can do 3 hours with little trouble-but I do wrap the hell out of it, and I do use a velcro strap.
If I measured my penis the same way erect, it would come in around 6.4". So I'm getting a stretch over a little over an inch past my normal erect length.

Ok so I am completely new to this x4 extender PE device. I just got it today and watched the video and read the instructions. I know how to set it up but I don't know how to use it. I tried setting the tension on the device and it fell apart. When i thought i had it right i had no stretching feeling in my penis. I am pretty well endowed but I just wanted to get to the 11 inch range. Right now I am 7 flaccid and 10 erect. I really need to know how to apply tension so if you could tell me I would greatly appreciate it. And I need it step by step in lamens terms so I don't break this device
