So I am hanging 1 1/2 t 2 hours per day, 5 days a week, plus 2 lighter days at 1/2 to 1 hour each. I started with 4 lbs. and I am up to 8 lbs. now. For the last 3 weeks, I have been going up 1 lb. a week, as I read that this was suggested. At this rate I would be up to 12 lbs. in about a month, this kind of scares me, as I was hoping to not ever go beyond 12 to 15 lbs. So once I get to 12 to 15 lbs., then what? Do I continue to hang with just this weight? Will I still see gains without going beyond this weight? Oh, and I am using a vaccuum hanger, and hanging SD, and BTC

Read your body. If eight pounds feels like too much, back off and add more weight when eight pounds feels fine. Don't rush it. You may be afraid of twelve pounds today but by the time your penis has been conditioned to handling eight, then nine, then ten, then eleven pounds, twelve pounds may feel quite acceptable, should feel quite acceptable.
You should see gains at lower weights (12 to 15 pounds) but it will likely be less than if you progress to heavier weights. This isn't me speaking, by the way, but my study of the masters of hanging, most specifically Bib and Blink.
And why do you have that block wall in the way, that determination to never "go beyond 12 to 15 lbs.?" Why not?Last edited by OMG!; 09-06-2011 at 09:22 PM.

So, say I go to 20 lbs., the question is still, do I continue to hang with just 20 lbs. , or even 25 lbs., for the rest of my hanging career? Will gains continue even if I am not increasing weight?

you don't need tons of weight.
10 pounds is more than enough to stretch your tendons properly, what you need is lots of time with that sort of weight -which you are doing. when your tendons are stretches thoroughly and you are targeting the tunica, maybe more weight might be needed, but more is not always better. if you are fatigued from a workout, then you have enough weight. The force is strong with you young Skywalker. Obi Wan has trained you well.

one problem with not increasing weight, is you will need to increase session length and number of sessions. so it could become counter productive.

Your ultimate goal is your guide. If your goal is eight inches and you are hanging at 20 pounds and are holding steady at 7 inches and 20 pounds now feels normal, move up in weight. Paying attention to what your body is telling you is key. Seek fatigue and you will achieve.

Your doing the right thing Joe ... 7 days a week, a good investment of time, and gradual increases in weight. So keep doing what you're doing.
The aim is to get to fatigue ... the point where the weight is too tiring on your unit to go a whole set. Let's say that's 15 lbs ... then you'll start your set at 15 and then when fatigue sets in and your ligs need a rest, drop back by a pound or two.
Don't be limited or worried about a theoretical or scary number (12 or 15 lbs) just gently increase week by week and see where it takes you.
Good luck.
