Malehangers Progressive Weight Hanging reminds me of a bodybuilding program that was popularized in the 70's by a guy name Mike Mentzer.
He's dead now but his methods were revolutionary at the time. Basically, he broke the paradigm of what bodybuilding "had to be".
While other bodybuilders were at the gym 6 days a week pounding each muscle from every angle for hours - he was there twice a week, used only a few sets per body part, and was in and out in less than an hour. The only difference was that his workouts were at the highest intensity.
So the difference between regular programs and his was: volume vs intensity.
He was considered a quack for a long time but the results spoke for themselves. He was built like machine... and so were a lot of his followers. I've personally tested his approach and it works fairly well - especially if you don't have a lot of time to give up.
I'm tired and so I may not have described it thoroughly enough. But the point is - The theory behind Malehangers approach has worked in other realms too.
PS - do a quick google of Mike Mentzer and you'll probably find better description than I've described hereDay 1: May 15, 2012

I am also a construction worker bigO. Malehanger is 15 minutes and 3 sets what I should aim for daily as long as I'm hitting fatigue? I am just starting to hang. Thanks.

I still have High Intensity Training The Mike Mentzer way sitting on my shelf in the living room, My boys look through it and I tell them, when they get older that and the Arny encyclopedia of bodybuilding, also on my book rack ( but tattered) will help them when they are ready. Great books.
Mike Mentzer was an animal. His routines are sick.Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before

As a 'noob' of only 2 hanging sessions is it best to wait a couple of weeks before using this technique, or should I just jump right into it?

Cheers chap. In a week I'm already up to about 3kg (6.6lb) and haven't had to stop a set yet. I guess it's mainly time to get back into the habit and also to get used to wrapping.
