I've stated this on other threads but I thought I would post this with pics and leave it for posterity. (Note, all credit goes to Captn for his great idea and design)
My version replaces the traditional hook and loop and nylon strap with Velcro's one-wrap. I don't use the rubber blocks inside the clamp but I do use the cable clamp. I will use a 2" long silicone tube as a wrap for 5 lbs or lower and a sticky wrap and ace bandage for heavier than 5 lbs.
Purchase a roll of 1.5" and 0.5" velcro one-wrap. Cut approximately 10" of each. Roll the 1.5" around your unit once (so it will stay there on its own. Take the 0.5" section and attach one end perpendicular to the 1.5". Curve the 0.5" past your glands and attach to the other side.

Finish wrapping the 1.5" around your unit. This sandwiches the 0.5" between the 1.5" which engages the hook/loop from each one to engage each other.

Use your cable clamp to secure the wench and voila!

I use the 0.5" loop to attach my weights and I'm good to go.
This takes about 5 minutes to make (If you don't count waiting in line and the drive to the hardware store) and is very effective for light weights.
