Looking for advice on hanging

I haven't been on this forum lately, but mostly because I've stopped experiencing any gains. It's been a while since I've seen anything happen, though what I did gain (~1.5in length) has definitely become permanent. I'd like to give hanging a try now that I have a lot of free time at home. I hear baby steps is the way to go, and it makes sense to me. But I can't seem to find any basic technique information on here. Anyone have any advice based on either common knowledge or personal experience?

Does LOT affect your ability to gain from hanging? Like my LOT is 6 . This mean hanging wont help?
