Does age matter? like will you still get gains from PE even if your past puberty? or is it harder? just like bodybuilding

We have people making incredible gains from all age brackets. I think genetics plays a bigger role than age.
You would think that younger people would make gains easier, but I am living proof that that is definitely not the case.
