  • I heard masturbation slows down your gains?

    I recently read this. Anyone know anything about this?

    For the past year, I almost always masturbated right after my erect-kegels PE session, as a reward to myself, unless my girlfriend was coming over that day (in which case we had sex).

    For that matter, does sex have the same reduction to gains as masturbation?

    About six months out of last year, I would either masturbate twice a day or else have sex once a day and masturbate once.
    Initial: 5.25" BPEL, 4.75" EG (March 2018)
    Current: 6.75" BPEL, ~4.85" EG (April 2019)
    Realistic Goal: 7.25" BPEL, 5" EG
    Dream Goal: 8" BPEL, 5.5" EG

      There are a lot of theories about this. Some state that masturbating too much causes a lot of friction along the shaft and is an exercise itself so it can cause overtraining and hence slow down or stop gains. Other state that it's a matter of EQ, if you dramatically reduce masturbation then EQ will sky rocket assuming there are no other underlying issues. So this rise in EQ can make a trainee believe they are gaining faster. When I abstain from ejaculation and I'm only talking 1-2 weeks my dick looks bigger on both flaccid and erect and my balls hang lower so I'm a believer that the main difference is EQ from abstinence.

        There's a distinct difference between frivolous masturbation and edging. Still, excess ejaculation can cause a decrease in libido.

        If one is engaging in high frequency sexual activity then more rest days per week may be needed for recovery. This is due not just because of ejaculation but to the stress on the penis from vigorous sexual activity.

            Big Al is pretty much considered the expert on all things PE, so it really is not fake news. It is advice based on extensive experience.

            That being said, perhaps there is a misunderstanding. The conventional wisdom is that one should separate PE work from ejaculation. Ejaculation voids the body of essential hormones, so it is generally accepted that we should wait about two hours after a PE session to ejaculate as it may hamper gains.

              Yes, masterbation after your sessions like that, or twice daily at all, is not benificial for PE. Not unless you have ravage testosterone that has you getting random, rock-hard, un-stimulated erections throughout the day.

              Ejaculation reduces flaccid hang, lowers testosterone, and reduces EQ level, frequency, and blood flow all of which are super beneficial to the recovery process of PE.

              On average it takes about 7 days for T-levels to spike during abstinence. Ideal ejaculation frequency for good PE, IMO, is around once every ten days.

              All ejaculation has these effects, but sex is not anywhere near as detrimental as masterbation. This is due to hormones and pheromones during sex. Sex will actually have a short spike of T-levels after sex before dropping, in a small way they'll trigger your body to produce more sperm.


              But honestly on another note, Sperm is a man's ultimate source of energy. I stopped ejaculating unless its during sex and it really changed my life, vitality, and well being. Also made me even better in the bedroom. The list goes on, but the tons of reports from men in the No-Fap community are legitimate. Benefits vary by individual, but theres a lot of them.

              Oh, and its definitely given a serious serious boost in my PE effectiveness. About 1" length in 6 months.

              Really just comes down to how serious you are about your PE and how resilient you are to the idea of quitting masterbation.

                Currently I'm not masturbating and as much of a skeptic I am on its relation to PE I am currently noticing my flaccid stretches being much longer than ever before. But, this is also coupled with the fact that I have recently intensified my PE routine.

                  Everything is relative. A high frequency amount of ejaculation for some might be considered undaunting by others. Fitness, health, training, etc. can all make a difference.

                  That being said, there's more than just potential libido issues which can be created by frivolous masturbation. Negative conditioning may result- especially when porn is used.

                    Well I’m no expert but I can attest to a huge increase in labido, sex dreams, personality everything just going a week. I’m like a totally different person. As far as PE goes I’m in it 4 months and you can see my gains with extender work only.
                    Start: 12/10/18 BPEL. 5.75. MEG. 5.25.

                    Now: BPEL. 7.50 MEG. 5.5. Fat pad ~.5 inch.

                    Short term goal: Just see some growth.
                    Long term goal: BPEL 8.0 inches or so. MEG 6 inches.

                      Thanks for the replies everyone.

                      I can't go too long with masturbation, because then my brain gets completely cluttered up with libido, to the point where it affects my ability to function effectively and impairs my judgment. I'm currently not in a relationship, so I don't have sex as an outlet.

                      I don't look at porn while masturbating though, I just close my eyes and imagine
