Thread: Hanging vs stretching

I would like to know if hanging is just a substitute for stretching?
If not can you please explain the difference ?
I'm thinking when my gains stop for jelqing alone i may implement a stretch or hang undecided as to which

In my opinion, hanging is more intense and, accordingly, more effective than extending. I tried hanging for three months and gained 1/4.” I extended for four plus years and gained 3/4.”

what amount of time did you hang for and how heavy?
Also did you progress in weight?

I used a sock hanger three times a week doing three rounds of 15 minutes each. I started at 5 lbs and built up to 13 lbs by the third month. Unfortunately, privacy became an issue so I had to give it up.

I believe between an extender that applies 13lbs of tension vs a hanger that applies 13lbs of tension, the extender is more efficient because the tension is focused to penis and the support tissues. The hanger applies tension to the entire lower abdomen and penis, perhaps more if you are standing.

13 lbs of tension is equivalent to 5,896 grs., not any extender I am aware of goes beyond 2,000 grs. I rarely go beyond 900 grs. And when I do, I usually end up with bruising and occasional blisters.

Its about time and amount of tension you are applying to your penis for example if your stretching force is 5 kg and you stretch your penis 20 minutes straight down its not very different from hanging with 5 kg straight down.
Trick of hanging is time, powerful manuel stretching for 2 hours everyday is very tiring but you dont spend any energy while hanging (you just sit back and watch time).
If you have limited private time (less than 1.5-2 hours to hang everyday or 6 days a wek) i would suggest you to stick with manuel exercises (add only stretching) no matter what.

I consider hanging to be superior for most. The reason is that it's a lower tension and longer duration. If I had the privacy I needed, I'd hang. Unfortunately I don't, but I do have the grip and stamina to stretch for 5+ minutes at a time, so I emulate hanging with low tension and long duration. I've gained almost 3/4" since around April. You can do a lot more focused work with stretching, too, but it ties up at least one hand.
If memory serves, quite a few have gained well on a combo of the two

Totally agree with this. Used the Phallosan extender pretty regularly (avg of 3 hours daily) along with some sporadic bathmate pumping and some jelqing here and there for about 4 months and saw some improvement, likely from EQ. No knock on the Phallosan, it's a fine device and probably on par with other devices in effectiveness. I just always felt I couldn't get consistent stretching with it. Even with warm-up the setting I used varied.
I started hanging using the Phallosan bell & suction with some parts I had and it felt so much more consistent and in the past 2 months alone I've gained .25" and .5 cm in girth (sorry for the metric/imperial mix). It's possible that I was on the verge of making good gains with the extender and hanging just coincided with the gains but I really feel hanging has been the key. I hang for less time than I used the extender per day.
Maybe I've been too aggressive but I started at 1.5 lbs (it felt right) for a week and slowly upped to where I am now at 5 lbs. I've ordered the LG Hanger because the Phallosan just isn't designed for that kind of weight. Again, I've increased as it felt right to me. I could just feel when the pull wasn't sufficient anymore. I've lifted a lot of weights over the years and I'm pretty in touch with my body (no fap pun intended).
Oh, and I've seen it a lot on here but I also totally agree with the warm up/heat before and after (less heat after and slow cooldown) along with using a sleeve to help maintain the elongated shape as much as possible.

I'm pretty confident you won't be disappointed with your new LGH. It's easy & comfortable to use.
