OK, so I appreciate I've been around these parts for a while, but I've started to look at venturing into more device based work (either clamping or hanging).
Now I have all of the devices needed, a bib hanger, a heating lamp, cable clamps, a pump, the lot, so I'm ready to start experimenting with my "devices". This combined with the fact that I'm going to be working from home during September, due to our office being renovated, which will be going on for around 4-6 weeks.
Now I had earmarked this "working from home" period to be the perfect chance to start hanging. I do believe the hanging will help me gain the length I want plus, with being at home, I'll be able to hang consistently throughout the day. I can then see how hanging goes for me and if I feel that it's working, then I'll start working it into my PE workouts when I go back to work (still trying to see how I can do this, but I will if needed).
However, right now, hanging will be a little bit more difficult for me purely due to my personal setup. So, I had the thought that I'd start to clamp and jelq from now until September, then switch to hanging. I literally only need to increase about 0.375 inches at my mid-shaft and around 0.625 inches at my glan girth. So I'm not looking for large increases here!
My problem is this though - I've read in various places that with more girth, it will be harder to gain length. I've certainly not reached my length goals yet and I'd say I've at least another inch or so to gain before I feel happy.
However I just don't want to waste time gaining more girth if that is going to hinder my chances to gain length, so the age old question comes up "what would you do".
Thinking about it logically, I guess the amounts I'm looking in increase my current girth by aren't actually that much, so my gut feeling is saying to me "it's really not going to make much difference to your length potentials".

Sounds good Reetb, but hanging consistently means what exactly? A specific time of the day, or just that you include it in your workout? I also think the 0.275 and 0.635" girth gains can be quite hard to obtain. I am not sure how hard of a gainer you are, but the girth section for me is definitely my problem, so that would be MUCH in my opinion.

Well hanging consistently basically means that I'll be hanging 9 sets a day, broken down into 3 x 20 minute sets.
In other words:
AM - 3 x 20 minute hanging sets
Midday - 3 x 20 minute hanging sets
PM - 3 x 20 minute hanging sets
I'll do the above routine during the week and hang for at least 1 or 2 sets at weekends and intend on doing this for between 4 and 6 weeks.
I'm hoping a month of hanging like this will kick start my length gaining. If I gain anything, then when I go back to work, I intend on hanging at least an hour a night (3 x 20 minutes).
Currently I'm 6.5 inches in girth (NBPEL) and would ideally like to make 7.5 (NBPEL) someday. I really do think hanging will get me there.
My girth is good (you've probably seen my other thread on girth) and I'm on average, around 5.75 inches in girth (base girth is 6.375, midshaft is 5.675 and glan girth is 5.25 inches). I'd like to try and get to around 6 inches in my midshaft and glans ideally.
So my thoughts were around clamping and jelqing from now until September when I'll then start to hang. But like I said above, I wasn't sure if this would be a good idea or not as I don't want it to hinder my length gains.
As it's not that feasible for me to hang right now, I guess there are two questions:
1.) Is clamping / jelqing from now until September going to impact my length potential?
2.) Should I just continue with my manual stretching and jelqing, then hang in September and visit clamping at a later date?
Personally speaking, if clamping and girth gain had no impact on my future length potential, then I'd just clamp right now. I enjoy the feeling of clamping and jelqing, plus right now, it's very easy for me to do. I just don't want to impact any future length gains by having a thicker cockDon't focus on the destination but enjoy the journey!

I am at the same crossroad, I tried to research if girth gains would make it more difficult to gain length and didn't find anything convincing. I even posted a poll to see what members thought here: https://www.pegym.com/forums/poll-fo...difficult.html
It would be great if more members would vote so we could get a consensus.
So far it looks like an even split, that is also the conclusion I made from reading posts at thunders and some other sites. I tend to think it depends on your limiting factor. I have made good length gains with manual exercises but gains have slowed to a crawl recently, my limiting factor is the "cord" some refer to, or septum. I don't think adding girth would affect length gains where the "cord" is the limiting factor. If the tunica was the limiting factor it may affect length gains as the tunica could toughen with girth work and make stretching it more difficult. This is just a best guess on my part I don't have real evidence to support it.
My stats are almost identical to yours, and my goals are nearly identical as well. Personally, I have chosen to start clamping and will add hanging in the not too distant future. With Clamping and girth work I think staying consistent over a long period of time is critical based on what I have read. My feeling is that working girth for a month or two then stopping will not likely add much if any permanent girth and may end up making future gains more difficult. I view getting permanent girth gains as a minimum 3-6 month journey (though I am a hard gainer with girth). Again, just my opinion. I have only recently started seriously targeting girth.07/06/09: BPEL = 5.875" , MEG = 5.75",BEG = 6.375"

ReetB, if you hang like that and steadily increase your weight over that period of time you will gain astoundingly fast.
But as far as gaining girth making it harder to gain length later on down the road I don't know the answer to that, sorry.

I intend on clamping, pumping and jelqing for the next three months and then I'll have a period of hanging.
My girth is naturally on the larger than average size so if girth does impact on length then I'm already stuck. I have a little girth experiement going on for the next three months which I'll detail in my log.
