I am now on my seventh week of excercises and noticing good girth and rock hard erections. Thats all good but no visible length is observed. I know it takes up to three months for visible length but how does this all come about? All of a sudden it grows or is there a gradual lengthening?

Gradual lengthening, but like it says. Pe takes time, it i not certain that you will gain at all during your beginner routine. You may just lay a foundation to further help your future "PE career". Several people have experienced no gains at all during their first routine, and then doing the same again; gains. So just stick to it and be patient

I agree with UYN.
Also, here's my guess as to why you might be gaining more girth than length:
High erection jelqs give more girth. If you jelq at a lower erection level, you could shift the gains to more length. However, lower erection jelqs can produce a baseball bat effect since the lower erection means less force can be applied towards the base of your shaft.
If you naturally have more base girth, then this might balance things out, or you could always do both kinds of jelqs too... it's just based on preference.

- Oh ... just around ...
UYN and Blink are on it. And I would add that I would think intensity of the exercises conducted and other factors would be taken into account as well:
- How hard are you stretching?
- How long are you holding the stretches (longer than recommended? Shorter?
- What is your grip like during your jelqing?
- Are you taking any supplements to aide in circulation?
- Etc ....
All of these things have to be taken into account. Experiment and stay with it.

All good points guys. One comment from me.
In the long run, gaining is something like up and down. You may be gaining and loosing length and girth (girth in particular) with time, but in the end some of these gains are permanent and this is it!. There are no shortcuts and like UYN said, patient and consistency!
Noticing gains after 1-2 months is the best indication you're on good track. If no gains noticed refer to what GettingThereOK has pointed out.No Signature

Measure, and be consistent in the way you do that.
You posted "visible length", and I find thats not the best way for me. My eyes can deceive me,
Bone pressed Erect length, standing, sitting, or laying horizontal can effect the measurement.
Simply stated, do the measurement the same way each time.
Be aware, Fat Pad thickness, amount of hydration (water) in your body, any medications you take *may* impact the measured results.

Visible length, I agree, it doesn't work that way. 6 inches looks like 5 to me. Now girth, I can see it is fatter. Just use the ruler once a month to see your gains. My progress notes
Goal: approx 7.25 EL x 5.7 EG - Length for me, Girth for her

Have you checked your BPFSL? How does it compare to your BPEL?
