A few guys here have come back from the absolute brink of ED. (Eventually, more of them will probably comment in this thread).
If I were you, even if my chance was 1 in a million. I would try. If everything fails, you can go the prosthesis route. But I think you would agree, that should be an absolute last resort. At least that's my view on things.

Rex, I advise staying away from the rubber bands. I do something I call "tubing" which is kind of an extended cock ring. The tube is a set diameter and relies on slowing down but not stopping the flow of blood from the penis. The penis shaft is stretched between the pubic bone and the flare of the glans and the portion of the penis extending beyond the tube slowly expands and extends beyond its normal flaccid or errect potential. By experimenting with tube diameter and length I can wear the tube for hours but....I monitor the color and sensitivity of my glans continually. Any loss of feeling or troubling change in color and I get out immediately.
A rubber band continues to constrict the penis and as stated above reducing oxygen below a certain level will cause the death of cells and perhaps perhaps permanent damage to your penis. If your going to use some sort of constriction, experiment with adjustable cock rings or make some yourself, not rubber bands.

I have endured ED for over 10 years and have used a 1/2" rubber band (doubled over) around my whole package for most of this time. By placing it around the whole package, the constriction is not as tight as when it is around just your shaft. I learned early on, however, not to keep it on for more than 15 minutes. I also use a Pearl Beaded Cock Ring (have ordered at least five over the 10 years) from adamandeve.com. A&E offers close to 100 diferent styles of cock rings. It will come up if you search for "beaded cock ring" The beads allow a small amount of circulation so you can wear it (I place it around my whole unit once it has stretched out several times) for up to 30 minutes and more after you become conditioned.
I started pumping about 10 months ago, and generate nice hard erections (Usually, however, I need to take Viagra first to maintain the erection for more than 10 minutes) which I maintain with either the band or the cock ring. Just this week I started using just a stiff 1/2" (I think silicone) cock ring which I slip down to the base of my pumped, lubed shaft which has maintained a 7+ erection without Viagra and 8+ with Viagra. I have only used this latter method for a week so I can't offer a strong recommendation , yet.

not2big: great post. I'm starting to understand why guys use cock-rings (I actually had no clue before; this was something I never looked into).
Question: You mention pumping. Do you think it somehow benefit guys that are starting to suffer from ED? (or at least low quality erections)

Since starting PE 10 months ago, I started taking many of the recommended suppliments; do manual PE, especially stretches; started using an extender 4 months ago; and follow Avocet8's pumping routine for ED.
I know pumping has truly revitalized my sex life (both size and EQ); however, I am sure all the other routines have contributed as well. I definately recommend ED sufferer to try pumping and constriction, but can't guarantee it will work for everyone.
