I use Super Kegels (as well as reverse kegels and alternating kegels) and can hold some of them for several minutes. I do it to build strength and control, not because I imagine a sex scenario that would require a multi-minute kegel.
Like anything else, your best kegel routine will depend on your condition and your goals.
I am in good condition and control is my goal, so Super Kegels make sense for me.
