I am one hairy bastard... luckily my gf likes it so i dont need to worry too much - i once clean shaved my nuts area and even trimmed my leg hair and she said i looked like a chicken... :-( now i just trim whens it gets too crazy long.
However, recently hair has started growing up my shaft! the furthest hair is actually 2/3 up the shaft... clearly i have to remove it!!
Ive tried shaving and plucking... shaving only lasts 2 days and leaves a rash ... plucking causes in-grown hairs and hurts like crazy!
Ive started considering trying permanent hair removal - theres one gizmo thats uses pulse light to kill the hair folicle - its says not to use it on sensitive areas but i was thinking that the base of my penis is not too sensitive..?
Has anyone tried this pulse light? Or is there another method of hair removal i havn't considered?
All recommendations appreciated!

It wouldn't hurt to call and ask a professional hair removal place.

hahahahaa, I'm the same! I seem to have hairs some way up my penis too! I dont know if its caused by PE'ing (think I read somewhere on here it causes hair growth) or just the fact I havent paid this much attention to my penis before I never noticed them being there...
I'm not going to get them waxed by anyone-there's not enough there to warrant the embarrassment/pain/cost factor, and I'm not going to buy one of those IPL gizmos either. Ever had IPL on your back hair? Thats painful enough, I'd hate to think what it'd be like on my penis. oooooooooouuuuuuuuucccccchhhhhhhh! Shaving is a waste of time and causes ingrowing hairs (for me it does-not plucking). No, I'm just going to take the pain and keep plucking those suckers out! At some point (like waxing causes) the hairs will stop growing... Until then.....Ouch, ouch, bastard, ouch, bastard, bastard, ouch, ouch, bastard.....Start: 26/06/10

I shave my shaft every few days, and also experience skin irritation. Plucking seems kind of impractical, as the hair is pretty thick; it would take some time to pluck all those hairs out. Changing how I shave helped to alleviate some of the irritation, however: Using short, gentle strokes with the razor, done in the shower with hot water works best for me, and don't forget to apply shaving cream. Maybe you should seek some kind of lotion to help with the rash/irritation, and shaving won't be so bad anymore. I might look into doing the same.
Personally, I haven't tried plucking yet, but it might be worth it. Isambard mentions that the hair will eventually stop growing, though I plucked my unibrow for years before giving up and switching to a quick swipe of the razor.
As for permanent hair removal, I wouldn't use something that is not supposed to be used on sensitive body parts. You're getting a rash from shaving, so it is obviously sensitive!

I did a before and after shot of waxing that my girl and i do together. We used to get waxed once a month or so but that gets expense. I found everything I need on craigslist. Its hardcore on the pain factor yet a very fun and kinky thing to do with your lover. Read up on it and you may want to have it done once or twice by a pro so you can learn the right way before you start getting ingrown hairs. Good luck.Funny, I've been doing this for years, now I'm doing it the right way!
