Thread: How to let your son in on PE
- 03-13-2011 #211
I have one friend that, given the right opportunity, I will likely tell him about it and I am confident that it will be received in the spirit in which it is offered. As for my sons, I need to be a bit more sure of their judgment and maturity.
I do not expect that it will be a difficult or embarrassing conversation. I only hesitate because I want to make sure that they do not injure themselves.

I hear you on not wanting your sons to injure themselves. The best way to do that is to guide them as best you can. Chances are if you're talking to them and emphasizing not overdoing it (a less is more philosophy for beginners) then they will listen to you and take your guidance. Best of luck to you Pirate! Your sons are lucky to have you as their dad.
To me, there is no shame in PE. It's no different than when guys first began to lift weights/bodybuild and it was a fringe thing. Now it's mainstream.

It all depends too on their maturity how much you let them in on PE at once. For example, if your son is older you can probably let him in on the whole thing. If your son is younger then maybe just a basic "There are exercises to make it bigger." introduction without teaching the exercises. Then slowly introduce him to piss pulls/stretching and jelqing over time.

Thankee for your kind words, higherone.
Timing should not be underestimated. I think the trick is to look for, and be ready for, the conversation when an opportunity presents itself.

I agree on the timing and looking for the right opportunity to present itself, Pirate. It's important also to set up the conditions where you and your son are comfortable talking about things like that.

While I'm not a father, I agree with this. Trying to "find the moment" is a far bigger (and weirder) ask than just being ready to discuss it when the time arises. As I say, I'm not a father, but I can relate to the awkwardness of contrived conversations in other areas of my family life easily enough.

Yeah, the trick is to make it as normal as possible so that it's not awkward. I think a good way to do this is to just be open and honest with your son from an early age. Not necessarily letting him in on PE early, but that your penis is just another part of your body and nothing to be ashamed about, etc. Being open about things in talking can make the transition to "the birds and bees" talk or PE talk a lot less awkward.
