Interesting to not that gundamc21 says by starting PE at 17 he and his buddy felt they gained faster.
To me, there is no shame in PE. It's no different than when guys first began to lift weights/bodybuild and it was a fringe thing. Now it's mainstream.

What age do you think is best to let your son in on PE?

I think as soon as possible say around 12 or 13.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.
Sept 2010 BPEL 5.25 x EG 4.25
Feb 2011 BPEL 6.5 x EG 4.65
Oct 2011 1yr posting BPEL 7 x EG 4.8 (now time to work on girth)

I don't think we should. There is nothing wrong with any of our dicks. We choose indiviually to seek out new information because either we were bored or just thought about it and stumbled here. I for one would not relish the idea of having my dad tell me about jelqing; that's a visual of my dad I really don't think is proper and we all visualize things. In addition it sends the wrong message that your dick can be better. How many guys come here, try it, and don't do it anymore. Many I assure you. The diasappointment in not following through on pe will add more pressure on young men that might actually want to please their dads. Teach them to be good grownups. The premise of this whole question, whether to tell your son or not, implies that you can have a better dick and if you don't do it you won't have a better dick. Nah, it's something that a man should find if he wants without being directed.

Interesting points CUSP. Any other thoughts?

So, CUSP, if you do not tell your son about PE because it is an embarrassing topic to you, or whatever, and your son winds up with big insecurity issues because of the size of his penis and his social life and social skills suffer as a result.... will you feel guilty?

Since gundamc21 and his buddy were 17 when they started PE, chances are good that they were both still in the process of pubescent natural growth and would have gained most of the 1" anyway. Who's to say they might have gained even more if they hadn't disrupted the natural growth process by applying PE techniques.
Starting PE too early could be dangerous. I doubt any studies have addressed this possibility.

Stop living your insecurities and life troubles through your son. Your sizes may vary greatly from one another, BTW.
And once again, not to speak for Cusp..But he has made many other excellent points throughout of why it may not be such a keen idea in cases or how he disagrees with the premise of it. It is probably well above "It is embarrassing to talk about."
I think there are rare situations where you can kind of gauge if something is not right with your son as a teen, perhaps emotionally or such. then you obviously try to help him out and get to the bottom of it (and in rare cases penis size may be the cause, although that would probably be a part of a larger confidence issue). But in most average cases where you see your son is having fun or playing sports, dating, etc...It may actually be counter-productive to bring up length and girth-extensive PE.
I'm not saying it is not right to improve upon yourself (because people do and for the better usually), but I am saying that at that age, there are so many more important areas and lessons you should be giving to your son, and you also may be for the wiser if you don't open up that kind of baggage to him through the period when they are going through the most changes mentally and physically. Penis size should not be the most important aspect of a teen's or man's life and it should not be the thing that makes or breaks him, as many women have stated time and time again.
And to turn the tables...How would you feel if you taught your son PE at 14 or something and like most young dudes, they abuse the process in trying to see quicker results and he seriously injures himself? Because that has more of a chance of happening at that age than anything else.
Lol also the temporary urine...
