It can take a guy a long time to grow his penis a tiny amount. How much protein does your body need to grow that tiny amount? If you need extra protein to grow your dick, I think you must be on a big junk diet now.
And for all you guys consuming huge amounts of protein to build body muscle. Have you ever tried just busting your ass in the gym with a normal diet? I think so many people are brain washed by supplement companies to thinking that you need huge amounts of protein to make any gains. They spend all this money on supplements thinking they have the edge but have never really tried training (100% effort) without supplements. I see so many guys in the gym taking their pre/post workout drink/shakes. They just look like guys who train, normal guys with a bit of muscle. They probably would have got the same results without the added protein. I believe if you want to compete or go to the top 5% of your potential, then supplements may give you that added edge, but in my opinion, they are a waste of money(mostly) for the average trainer.

Give the body all the protein you can. Drink down those shakes. Guess what's going to happen? You guessed it;nothing. Your body is a very smart creation. It takes what it needs and gets rid of the rest. It doesn't say"Oh I have more protein so I'll go build some more muscle somewhere or maybe even a new kidney." Eat a well balanced diet and you'll be fine. Did you ever think what the word supplement means? It means "in addition to". If you have a poor diet then supplements may help but the main thing is the diet itself. I know people that take the equivalent of 50 oranges a day in vitamin c pills. Now if you eat 50 oranges a day you'd get sick right? Your body would say no mas! Now because you can't take it in pill form which fools the body your body doesn't end up puking and calling you a putz. Eat well, exercise and have some fun.Valued Member of 6 years at the PEGym

Your body does need protein to grow, and personally I found at least 1 gram/lb of lean body mass to be a minumum whether i'm gaining muscle or losing weight while maintaining muscle mass. Alot of protein? I desperately need to put on size, I am only 165 lbs. This would mean i need 150 grams of protein per day. This may sound light but im around 9% bodyfat, deadlift more than double my weight for reps, etc etc.
Today i've eat 135 grams of protein so far, according to a calorie tracker. So pretty much at my goal, and i've still got 700 calories to get to 2000 for the day(still cutting, haven't lost any strength). Thats with no protein powder crap- mostly all contained in 8 oz of sirloin, 6 eggs, 2 cups of milk, a cup of black beans, among other things. Very easy to get adequate protein unless you binge out on junk food. Although now that i've met my requirements, I could fill my extra 700 calories with candy or whatever I want, since at the end of the days its calories consumed vs burned. I find "healthy" food more satisfying though, and easier to fill up on without overeating.
Supplements are unnecessary, but protein is not. Many scientific studies to back this up.
An analogy would be religion- hey , if you believe in god and go to heaven thats great. If he doesn't exist, well at least you lived a moral life. But if he does and you go to hell, that'd suck.
You won't get hurt if you take in a little too much protein, but you will most DEFINATELY hinder your gains if you don't get enough. So why risk it, it isn't like eating protein is difficult and it definately isn't harmful as some people will lead you to believe. Buy some greek yogurt, toss in some fruit/granola and honey, and thats a high protein meal. I'd much rather have a steak or porkchops than some chips anyways.

I have lifted weights for many years, went through the protein crazes and the workouts, after many years I realize that protein shakes are great. They are great when you dont have time to eat well, they are great when you are trying to lose fat and maintain muscle and the are great When you want to get more protien than you would by eating a normal mans diet.
I did find one thing that was much better and price effective. Doing what Dr. Pepper has recommended, eating a healthy diet. I too would prefer to get my protiens from tuna, chicken, eggs, beef, turkey and fish. I will drink the occasional protien drink at work but it is mostly because I am in construction and I just dont like to work on a full stomach.
Cusp, that is a great anology with the Vitamin C. Get the veggies going down the hatch and just make sure that you try to get a variety of colors.
As far as protien drinks go, I dont mind them and I will tell you the biggest waiste of money is not the protien shakes, it is the weight gainers, thats a totol scam.
One more note on protien for you all to go damn, thought I was correct, anyone who has given an answer on how much some one needs is wrong, all of you, only because no ones exactly the same, ectomorphic and mesomorphic types do not process foods the same as each other. You must know your body type and if you do that is great but just because you eat 2 grams per pound a day and it is working for you doesnt mean that the guy in the gym next to you wont gain as well and maybe even better by eating only one gram per pound.
Just to prove a point everyone who has ever spent time in the gym knows that ass bag who eats McDonalds every day, drinks beer every night and still has a better bod than you. Dont you hate that SOB, I do. I am going to eat a bowl of ice cream, its OK because I am putting protien on it.Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before
