Thread: Arginine and lysine

I bought a lot of L-arigine and startet using it for about a year ago, but was not fully awear of what side-effects it had since I did not do enough research on it. So i got a herpes outbreak, then i read about it, and have not done it for over a year. But I have now found out that Lysine can help me prevent this.
I was woundering what you can take your arigine with? because its a "blind" drug which wount be as effectiv if it does not get sent in the right direction. And if you take lysine, how many hours after or before your take the arginine pill should you take lysine pill?
As I have understand if you take them together they will compete with what your body should consume or not?
I have also read that you should take the arginine pill 1 month on and than take a break so if you do this for about a year will your body grow attached to this drug and you will need to take it forever?
So to you guys in here using this drug and find it effective what tips do you have for me? Some say it works some say its bs. What do you say??

Can try Arginine Pyroglutamate with the L- Lysine because if both in the same form ( L-) they compete for the same receptors.
Or better yet, as someone else suggested - just take the 2 at different times of the day.
These 2 supplements did little for me, but others are really into them.

its just a amino acid why would you have to take it 1 month on and take a break that dosent make much sense i take it all the time and take protein powder which has 16 amino acids in it including lysine and arginine

I take L-Lysine to help with cold sore outbreaks. Take it as soon as you see signs of an outbreak. I dont take it daily but im sure some people do.July 2016 - - - - - - - Oct 2016

This amino acid is not bad at all. but if you take to much of it at once you can damage your liver and kidneys. I suggest you take some collagen and some l-glutamine....l-glutamine is the main amino acid in your body and in alot of foods. It works way more better and it puts your body in a Always building new tissue Stage!
