Thread: Dark Groin + Fat Pad

After a while of PE'ing, I wonder if others see what I see.
I have noticed that my groin area is generally alot darker than the rest of my body. Is that normal? Are there way to make it lighter?
Also, as I need to gain weight I seem to notice a larger cushion just above the base of the penis and below the naval. Thing is I need to gain weight but it seems my body is depositing it all in one place! lol

You need to gain weight or lose weight?
I've never noticed a darkening of the entire groin area.

If you 'need' to gain weight and it's depositing too much into your fat pad/lower belly areas, then I'd venture to say you're going about doing it wrong. Just because you're trying to gain, doesn't mean don't exercise or cut back from what you were doing prior. Keep exercising at the same or even higher intensity, just manage it with supplementary protein intake(during bodybuilding, it's recommended that a 'hard gainer' take in 1.5-2 times their body weight in grams of protein per day, but we're talking some fairly intense workouts and routine sand still a strict diet regime!)

Yes, even I think my gaining routine is a little soft at the moment. Need to work on cutting the fat as well as making more muscle.
I came across a couple of exercises to help with inner thigh and groin area. Live Strong believes doing plie squats, medicine ball squeezes, leg lifts etc (How To Get Rid Of Groin Fat | LIVESTRONG.COM) should reduce the depositation of fat. If you do a number of their steps looks like it may work? What do you think?"Todays preparation determines tomorrow's achievement."

I was wondering if there were ways to lighten the whole area? I read somewhere that because that part of our body do not get enough sunlight/air and rubs against our clothes more often it has become rough and dark. Maybe there are ways to listen it using whitening creams, looser underwear/clothes?

As far as the fat being deposited there...it's hard to target a specific area in which to lose, just good old fashioned general cardio(getting your heart rate up to its target based on age and weight, and keeping it there for 20 minutes or more) will help you to lose fat over all of your body. You can intensify that by doing short intense spikes of activity during an hour long cardio, approximately 5 minutes then 10 minutes regular then 5 minutes...etc...a la the Insanity workout program....but yeah, targeting is difficult/disproven when trying to lose fat, just regular overall cardio is best...
Now if you're trying to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time you need to take in at least your body weight in grams of lean protein per day on your workout days...there's a lot of info on the forums on bodybuilding.com and a lot of other sites, google is a wonderful thing!
