Thread: Am I jelqing correctly?

Before you think I'm just another newbie, I am a seasoned PEer and have made substantial gains. I've never been happy though with my technique as it has caused some problems and I'm looking for some suggestions.
Here's how I do it. I sit down with my back up against something and then spread my legs pretty wide to allow easy access. After getting hard, I grip at the base. Without letting go, I grip with the other hand above it and squeeze and slide forward all the while maintaining the grip with the other hand. The stroke moves upward toward the ceiling and my penis is parallel to my stomach. Here's my first question. Am I supposed to maintain that grip while the other hand is sliding or is one hand at a time supposed to be doing it? I've noticed that sliding one while gripping with the other tends to cause some uncomfortable tension on the skin. Does anyone else jelq like this? If so, have you figured out a way to minimize the tension? I have found that trimming all hair greatly reduces irritation, but even so, sometimes I get so sore I have to take a day or more off. I know I'm not doing it quite right, but it works. I just don't like the soreness. Sometimes, it even interferes with getting hard easily! So annoying. Any suggestions from anyone who employs a similar technique would be appreciated.
I think that I know the officially correct way to jelq, but it just doesn't feel right after doing it the way I've been doing it for so long.
