If I was going on a major vacation in six months, I would say I am going on vacation in a couple of months at a minimum. I would not say I am going on vacation in a few weeks. Now, if I had been planning and working on this vacation for several years, in comparison, I now only have a few weeks before I go. The difference here is that Big Al did not say that after several years of PE, you could gain X amount in only a few more weeks. His statement is that once you start, you can gain X in a few weeks. Maybe one in a 100 can, but us normal peons won't see those amount of gains period - weeks, months or years.

I don't see why anyone's complaining about it to begin with.. Its not like you payed to read the article.. I guess I can agree it sounds a little funny, several weeks, but what are you gonna do? Doesn't change the weather to hot or cold for me.. Unfortunately there are people that will read it, and take it to heart, that is their loss honestly. No intelligent or educated person is going to take the word of one opinion. Before I ever really started PE, I read literally hundreds of articles about it, from hundreds of sources. Never paid a cent for it, and have gained because of it, in a safe risk free manner.

I started this thread and I do want to reply with some thought and detail but workload prevents me at the moment. But I will say a few things:
Firstly, I really appreciate Big Al putting forward his views in the articulate and polite way he always does. I disagree with a couple of his points, but I respect that he responded and that he has essentially invited honest and direct feedback.
Secondly, I'm glad this is progressing as a balanced discussion / argument with people trying to express themselves respectfully.
But a couple of recent posts captured my attention and the essence of this debate:
Now many of the unconcerned (my words) posts in the thread (including mods) seem to be saying 'what's the big deal? ... you can't believe everything you read on this site ... even if it's a prepared and sanctioned article for new starters'.
But like BTBrian, I thought this site was better than that.
I've tried to be a positive contributor to this community and encourage what is generally considered to be good and safe PE technique. Given a fair bit of the reaction to this post, I'm wondering why I invested that energy?

Holy Cripes guys, If it says you can gain an inch in several weeks after starting PE it is because it is true, I gained like a weed and in the first three months I gained 7/8th of an inch and this was on my own, why cant you all just realize that advertisement is just that, its a catchy way to get you read deeper. have any of you gone further into the sight and read on about the program. Read the FAQ's and testimonials. Of course they have some success stories. Honday says number one car, best ever and so does Chevy and Dodge. Ever wonder who really makes the best truck. I wonder all the time because I have seen a guy with a trophy standing by a (insert make here) truck. Saying voted best truck of the year by ( insert award namer here ). They are all the best, they all sell the most. Well it is really like saying in honesty that of all mide sized, two wheel drive, automatic trans, 4 passenger diesel engined red trucks, well we have sold more like that than any other maker. I have never seen a thread from all of you guys who are now on a truth in advertisement campain agains automotive advertisement and we are now beating on this.
How about beer, they are all number one and then they post some shit like please drink responsably, hell dudes and dudettes, they want you to get shit hous hammered, in fact they want you so hammered that you need more beer in the morning because that will be the only thing you can handle. Hair of the dog, well they would wrather you end up having the whole dog, where is the complaint on that. Dont think I have ever seen that thread. I wait, here is the best. P90 X, well I know it works for some and I have seen that mentioned before and only good comments, well guess what, that shit doesnt work, why? Glad you would ask, cause I am gonna tell ya. Most guys are two damn sissified to ever put in the work that this program really requires but those who do get pretty ripped. Well here is a shock for any of you, if you dont have a gym or membership I, yes, I Big to the fricken O could give you a great program and it will work for most, most who stick it out and dont miss days will get much more ripped before they started. Here is the super duper tough ass work out that will change your body, weight lifters who think you know your crap, you are better off to be quite, I will win this argument because any weight lifter who knows his shit will agree, he will know it is not an Arnold type body maker but if you dont exercise and then you do these three things for 90 days you will change your body, ask any true weight trainer.
Scenario, guy has never really exercised, weighs 175 at 5 foot 7. Starts the BigO 90 X and will be in much better shape. Here is the magic pill................50 push ups or as many as he can( probably less than 3x50) for three sets, situps and or crunches, 50 reps in the same fashion and the run 1/2 a mile. Now follow this progression and move up as you can and push it a bit. I would bet if one stuck this out he would be running at least 2 or 3 miles a day, 3 sets of at least 75 push ups or more, easily able to crush out 3 sets of 100 reps, probably much more and he easily be 15 to 20 lbs lighter and come what more cut.
Bear in mind if I gave this as a trial with 10 guys by the time 90 days was up 2 out of the ten would have stuck it out and not missed any days, in all reality 2 would be amazing but there would be two who looked much better.
MeCopoach says it is possible in several weeks. Is it all that criminal, after all it is a fact. ( read into that)Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before

Good post BigO,
It comes down to instant gratification. People (today) will quit anything that takes time, and a lot will most certainly quit if it is hard or taxes them in any way.
OP... All I can get out of this thread, is that you are trying to defend the people like stated above. I don't know what else it could be. An advertisement based on (achievable) possibilities is probably as good as an advertisement can get. BigAl isn't selling snake oil, so what's to be up in arms about? This isn't a topical cream we apply.... It is quite literally exercise. And I don't know why we are worrying about the people who don't understand that exercise results will always vary.
Lets say he changed the add... Based on what we all know, and building an advertisement that is (morally?) correct. It must say: "Gain 0-2 inches length, and gain 0-.5 inch in Girth in several weeks!". Would you want to advertise your
products and services that guaranteed anywhere from Zero to Amazing Results? Probably not.
Edit: And yes, I do realize that this is in an article, not an Adv., either way, the same principles still apply.
Also, last I checked, we don't have to pay to be a member, or contribute money in any way, to congregate on this wonderfully put together and maintained Forum.
