Thread: Putting size into perspective
- 10-16-2012 #1
I have mentioned a few times that most straight guys (no slam on our gay/bi brothers) have never seen another guy's erect penis - especially up close and personal. So we talk about this length erect size and that one, this erect girth size and that one - but we really don't have anything to compare it to other than pictures or movies maybe. So I want to put it into a comparison example that will clearly show how big or not so big we are, and by using something every one of us has seen up close and personal - male height. I am going to use the following numbers for averages, and though we could argue from now till the cows come home about what averages to use, these sizes are most definitely within a typical average for published sizes.
Average male height: 5'10" (177.8 cm).
Average bpel: 5.9" (15 cm).
Average erect girth (meg): 4.8" (12.2 cm).
Now adding inches to the average male height in 5% increments gives you the following:
5'10" x 5% = 6' 1 1/2"
x 10% = 6' 5"
x 15% = 6' 8 1/2"
x 20% = 7'
x 25% = 7 3 1/2"
x 30% = 7' 7"
x 35% = 7' 10"
x 40% = 8' 1 1/2"
Subtracting in 5% increments:
5' 10" x -5% = 5' 6 1/2"
x -10% = 5' 3"
x -15% = 4' 11 1/2"
x -20% = 4' 8"
x -25% = 4' 4 1/2"
x -30% = 4' 1"
So, if you are bigger or smaller than the average this simple chart gives you some perspective on just how big you are. Playing around with the numbers can be interesting. Round up or down to be closest to the correct 5% increment, and do this for your erect length and meg. Add the two corresponding heights together then divide by 2 to get a perspective on how big you are.
For myself my length is 7.3" which is just under 25% longer than average. Converting to height = 7' 3 1/2". My meg is 35% larger than average = 7' 10". The two heights added together = 181.5" / 2, making me 7 1/2' tall!!! No I don't have too much time on my hands!!!Last edited by rbi99; 10-16-2012 at 11:09 AM.

Yes you have too much time on your hands!
But hey, good post. The take away for me is that I don't have to be a freak of nature to actually have a big dick.
While we would all like to gain more, there certainly is value in being happy with what you have and not postponing being happy waiting for that elusive extra inch.Start (04/25/2011): 6.875"BPEL x ~5.375" MSEG

Here is a much more accurate version which lets you compare accurately by statistical analysis of standard deviations.
Assumptions used by this chart:
Average Male Height:
average: 5'10" (70")
standard deviation: 2.8"
Average Penis Length:
Average: 5.7"
standard deviation: 0.825"
Average penis girth:
Average: 4.9"
Standard deviation: 0.508"
(Notes: Male height listed in feet and inches is rounded to nearest 1"; Penis Length and Girth rounded to nearest 0.1"; Standard deviation listed from -6 to +6 orders in 0.5 increments; Percentile and frequency computed against a normal distribution curve)
EQUIVALENCIES
NOTE: This is for entertainment purposes only, lets not take this too seriously.
A note on the frequency column:
For measurements above average (standard deviations above 0) - the frequency represents the statistical probability of measurements above the measurement being looked up in the table. For measurements below average (Standard deviations below 0) - the frequency represents the statistical probability of measurements below the measurement being looked up in the table.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS CHART WITHOUT READING DIRECTIONS BELOW FIRST!!!
It is very easy to misunderstand the purpose of the chart, and how to use it!

DIRECTIONS
First off, this chart is NOT attempting to make any kind of link between your height, penis length or penis girth. The purpose of this chart is so that you can look up one of the following:
- Your height
- Your penis length
- Your penis girth
and then see how common (or rare) it is for the measurement you chose to appear in the male population.
For example, if you are curious about how common your penis length is, simply find the closest penis length on the table (ignore the girth and height in this case). If for example your penis is 6.5" long, you can find that on the chart and see that it puts you into the 84th percentile, and is found in only 1 in 6 men.
You do this individually for each of your stats (length, girth and height) and you can see how common or rare they are in the population.
Where the fun part comes in, is that you can compare your length to another girth or height (or vice verse). For example, if you now look at the girth or height column, you can say to yourself "Gee, I didn't realize that my 6.5" length was as common (or rare) in the population as being 6'1" tall!" Or maybe you would say "What would my girth need to be to be in the 99th percentile?", then you could look up in the table that 1 6.2" girth puts you in the 99th percentile (and you can look at the height column for example to see what height is in the 99th percentile).
Once you realize that the Height, Length and Girth columns are not associated in any way, you can make your own analysis and be able to visualize it easily.
IF YOU ARE SIMPLY READING A ROW FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, YOU ARE NOT UNDERSTANDING AND ARE DOING IT WRONG! THIS IS NOT A CHART TRYING TO SHOW RELATIONSHIPS OR CORRELATIONS! IF YOU THINK THAT THE CHART IS TRYING TO TELL YOU THAT IF YOU'RE 5'10" TALL THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE A 5.7"x4.9" PENIS, YOU ARE MISUNDERSTANDING THE CHART AND NEED TO READ THE DIRECTIONS AGAIN! IF YOU THINK THAT THE CHART IS TRYING TO TELL YOU THAT YOUR 6.5"x5.4" PENIS SHOULD FIT ON A 6' 1" TALL MAN, YOU ARE MISUNDERSTANDING THE CHART AND NEED TO READ THE DIRECTIONS AGAIN!
If you're still having a problem understanding the chart, it is actually 3 charts in one, which is why you might be confused. If this is the case, think of it as 3 different charts:
- 1 chart with the length column, but not the height or girth column
- 1 chart with the girth column, but not the length or height column
- 1 chart with the height column, but not the girth or length column
I combined all 3 charts into one so that you don't have to scroll between pages of charts. Perhaps this explanation will make more sense for some people.
FANTASY STATS!
To play along with fantasy stats, you have to understand the chart and the purpose of the chart (see directions above).
Here are some fun fantasy stats that you can generate by using the statistical data you get from the chart. Its all just for fun!
Fantasy Overall Frequency- Want to know how common (or rare) your overall penis is? Simply take the frequency of your penis length, and multiply it by the frequency of your penis girth. For example, if your penis size is 8.2"x5.4", then you would multiply:
741 x 6 = 1 in 4446
Fantasy Uniqueness- How unique are you? This is similar to Fantasy Overall Frequency, except it also factors in your height. Simply multiply the frequency of your penis length, your penis girth and your height. For example, a man that is 5'6" tall with a 7.4"x4.6" penis is:
15 x 44 x 3 = 1 in 1980
Fantasy Height- How tall would you be if your height was directly related to your penis size? Simply take the average of the frequency of your penis length and penis girth, and then find the height in the row with the closest frequency. For example, lets say that your penis was 9.0"x5.9":
31547 + 44 = 31591
Now look at the frequency row in the chart. You'll see that 31,574 is the closest to 31591, and therefore your fantasy height is 6' 9" tall!
Fantasy WOW Factor- How large is your penis compared to your height? This ratio can give the illusion of having a larger (or a smaller) penis. For example, a 8"x6" penis would look enormous on a man standing 5' 2" tall, but may not look that big on a man 7' 0" tall. This is exactly what "wow factor" is. To calculate your Fantasy Wow Factor, divide the average of the frequency of your penis length and penis girth by the frequency of your height. For example, the fantasy wow factor of a 5' 7" tall man having a 7.8"x5.7" penis would be:
((161+15)/2)/2 = 44.0
(Note that a man that is dead on average in all 3 stats would have a fantasy wow factor of 1.0)
Fantasy stats are actually endless, you can come up with countless ways to make the data fun. Don't take them too seriously though, just entertain yourself!

Ah, great minds think alike! I think we have hit on something here. While there are charts that will give you a good idea of how much longer or shorter you are from average, and how much ahead or behind you are with your girth, I have never seen a chart that takes the two together and gives you a comparison. While granted this chart we have come up with (yours being much more mathematically involved) is not a real number, it does take the two together. A guy with a lot of length but not much girth, a guy a little short on length and girth, or the monster dude can all be factored in and compared - apples to apples.
That is once you do a similar graph for girth!!FL 6.0"/MFG 5.75", BPEL 7.00"/MEG 6.5"

I think your idea of matching up penis length with male height was brilliant. It's a very representative way to really visualize the commonality in a nice simple way. It's very eye opening, especially when looking at how common lower than average sizes are (which doesn't get enough attention, IMO)

It don't work that way just like you have stocky men, medium builds, slender, and skinny in different heights. Some have long arms but no long legs. Some have long bodies but offset arms and legs. We know the average height of a male is 5.9-5.11 which is the deviant (average bounds). The penis has never been proven to relate to height or build. So we can count it out.
Next, we know that length and girth vary and more .1 deviant about .16 of a deviant. How do we get this because the modulos of 5.7 % 4.9 is 16. But this is usually not the case where in most cases the ratio gets higher in the modulos the longer the penis. Most men packing 8 inches in length are not packing 6.89 in girth. Just like there are men who are over 6 in girth who are not packing over 6 inches. It varies. 6 inches in girth is huge girth to have and sometimes troublesome when penetrating (how I know [pro's and con's]). A man with 6.7 inches for the ratio of 1.16 usually is not packing 5.8 in girth. The ratio even for the so called perfect penis '8x6' is 1.33 infinite which is why size charts are never accurate. I would say the longer you are the modulos will slightly go up. An average penis will not look too long but will look somewhat stocky in girth even thought the girth is average (perception of view due to the ratio of height / girth). However, you can notice a man with a longer penis because the ratio's remainder (modulos) is higher). Therefore the girth is less affected by the length increment. It is an offset. Don't ask me why it just is.Begin 7/25/2011:

You are completely misunderstanding the concept
The chart isn't correlating height with penis size. The chart is only showing equivalent rarities.. This is all statistically accurate. For example, the chat is saying:
"Having a 7.4" long penis is as common in the population as being 6'4" tall“
Or..
"Having a 6.9" girth is statistically equivalent to having a 9.0" length"
etc...
Again, it's just a chart to make visualizing rarity easier by showing equivalents. It's not a penis size vs height chart! I'll put a heading on the table to make it more clear
