I fear that my penis may be shrinking. My BPEL used to be a bit over 6 and a half. Now its a bit below.
This COULD be because I'm using a different ruler now (wood as opposed to flexy plastic). It COULD be because I'm starting to measure it standing up as opposed to laying down. Or it could be because it's really shrinking!
I think my penis is shrinking because I have low testosterone. I don't have any proof that low testosterone=shrinking penis, but it makes sense, doesn't it? I'm going to ask an endocrinologist about it- the fourth endocrinologist I've seen so far- when I see him next month.
Wht have I been to so many endocrinologists? Because they refuse to accept that my testosterone is low and that I need treatment! They all say that my testosterone levels are well within normal range, and that "no licensed medical professional" is going to prescribe me AndroGel (the most common test. replacement cream). But the stupid reference ranges that these doctors use to define "normal" are so arbitrary, and even if my testosterone level is "normal," it's still very low for somebody my age (19). I need to get on AndroGel, fast, so my penis doesn't shrink anymore!
But in the mean time, I'm taking testosterone supplements, trying to take a lot of zinc and vitamin D, never letting any plastic or cosmetics with parabens in it touch my testicles or even my body if I can prevent it- anything I can do to naturally raise my levels. If I have to start using small amounts of illegal steroids because the medical community refuses to help me, so be it.
My girlfriend and my therapist tell me that I have BDD- Body Dysmorphic Disorder- about my penis, and that's what is causing me to worry about it shrinking. But I think it actually is shrinking. Again, it could be because I'm using a different ruler or because I'm measuring it in a different position, but I doubt it.
What do you think? Can normal-but-still-below-average T levels cause your genitals to shrink? Everything else I've read online is really inconclusive about this.
