  • PE routine/porn induced ED

    Hi all,

Not sure if this should be here or in the ED forum. Mods feel free to move it if you'd like. Apologies in advance for the length of the post.

So I started doing the JP90 routine here in the end of January, and have been doing pretty well. I have been trying to condition my penis for some of the girth exercises later on (I'm currently 7 1/4" BPEL, 5" MSEG) and haven't had any issues yet. I was on a website the other day, called yourbrainonporn.com. First of all, it's an interesting read, but the more I think about it, the more I feel like the EQ problems I've been having could be related to this. Like most guys, I started masturbating and watching porn much earlier than I was sexually active. In fact, I didn't lose my virginity until college, and have only had a few sexual partners. I chalked EQ problems up to anxiety, but it was clear when I was with my most recent girlfriend long enough that we were perfectly comfortable with each other, and I looked towards other problems. Copulatory impotence, defined as the inability to get an erection (or a really pathetic one) with a real partner, seems to describe my problem fully.

To make a long story short(er), I am starting what is known as a 'reboot.' No pornography, no masturbation, no orgasm, no/minimal fantasizing for a minimum of 2 months. I'm not dating anyone right now, so that part of it won't be a problem. This is supposed to help the brain to rewire the whole dopamine/reward pathway that has been dominated by the novelty of internet porn and frequent masturbation. If I tried to masturbate without any visual aids, and no fantasizing, but on sensation alone, it would literally take me all night and I might not even be successful. With porn, however, my EQ is an 8+ consistently. Needless to say, I want to fix this to regain confidence and my sexual control.

Should I be doing PE during this reboot? Pelvic floor exercises? I'm interested to see if anyone else has had similar experiences. I feel like even to jelq and v-jelq (needing to be partially erect) takes A LOT of effort to do without resorting to porn. I don't want my PE to interrupt the reboot, as I feel that's the most important to my overall and sexual health.

Again, sorry for the post length. Any advice or comments would be appreciated.

Good idea on the reboot. You will likely see a dip in EQ, possibly a significant one, as you enter the flatline period. Don't panic; it's normal. Usually, your EQ shoots up at first because your brain expects the stimulation and fails to get it. As you rewire, you hit a dead spot for a while. But you probably know this form reading the site.

If you decide to PE during this time, be careful. You may find that it's too risky to jelq your penis, especially since you're still novice-ish with PE, without getting very aroused. And of course, you'll have no outlet. Additionally, as you enter the flatline you may find it tough to maintain the half erection level needed to jelq.

You can reboot while doing PE, but don't let yourself masturbate. Don't even edge. Nothing. Yes, this will make the reboot harder to the point that you may be better off without PE at all during this time.

Your choice, man. Hope your reboot is a success.

thanks for your response. and yeah, i'm refraining 100% from masturbation/edging. no porn whatsoever. day 5 right now (happened to be researching this past sunday and decided to start on April 1), hoping to go until sometime in July and see where I'm at. from what i read, 2+ months out is an appropriate time to test and see where things are at. masturbation with no aids whatsoever, based solely on sensation. due to having a computer, i can't tell you when the last time i did that was.

i think i'm going to completely stop PE, but continue with the following: JP90 stretches only (figure they can't hurt, and they're done completely flaccid anyway), pelvic floor routine from Minuteman's Dry Orgasm guide (beginner levels to learn to control, isolate, balance, strengthen, and build endurance), and continue the suggested supplements from threads on here (5 G's, L-arginine, etc).

You are a good man. You are on the right track! Not the easy road, but the right one. I was addicted to porn for a very long time. It caused me to suffer with ED (and gave me a million insecurities too regarding my penis size and sex).

Short story, I quit porn, stopped jerking off, and started PE. It worked!! It will work for you too. Yes, PE is wonderful. Definitely keep jelqing/stretching/kegeling. Definitely never go back to porn. If you do have to jerk-off try to be very gentle and try to avoid the glans (this is what you need to keep sensitive for a real pussy). If you do these things, which you are, sex will feel AMAZING and your dick will get really HARD when the time is right. Stay strong buddy.

One last thing. When I quit porn I actually went through withdrawals (as with quitting anything addictive). I started getting moody, grumpy, mad, even emotional. If you start feeling this way, it's a good sign. Redirect this "sexual frustration" energy into something positive. What you will start noticing (as you mind gets clean again) that regular/average girls are very attractive and sexy. More than before. This is a good sign too. The next step takes balls, but try to ask a girl on an innocent date (going for coffee, window shopping at the mall, etc...) once a week. Most girls say no, but one will say yes. Simply let nature take it's course from there. Your penis will function wonderfully and your new girl want to keep you forever because finding a nice guy who doesn't watch porn is rare now-a-days. You will be a keeper. Good luck buddy!!
