Well sometimes, yes this does happen. And from what I have read from numerous sources in the PE gym, growth rates are irrational, some people would not gain certain weeks or months and then all of a sudden see a growth spurt. But asides from this point, which is not what I meant by my comment, there is the whole point of measuring inaccuracies and differences between EQ also. I duno how fast of a gainer you are and how accurate of a measurer, but to think you can pinpoint differences in growth to the mm is either ridiculously naive or well-wishing. There is a reason that people suggest monthly or even bi-monthly measurements. If you are a really fast gainer and you are a newbie, you could possibly hope to gain 1/4 inch a month, therefore A. You are extremely lucky and should be counting your blessings, and B. Why would you care about which week you saw a little more growth than another.
On the other hand, if you are gaining less than 1/4 inch a month, meaning more like 1/8, how on earth are you supposed to accurately measure your growth from a weekly basis?
On another note, if you are measuring every week, you will end up becoming obsessive, like an overweight person weighing themselves everyday expecting for pounds to be different. And when they are different they are delighted, but when for some reason they are actually heavier that day [contrast to having poor EQ one day or week], they beat themselves up about it. Anyway, do what you like, you asked for advice here, so there is mine.
PE is a slow business, there are people on here who have not seen gains in months or even years, expecting gains on a weekly basis just contradicts the process that is taking place within PE.

I'm over 2 years in at this point, and haven't met my original goals (though, it's not near as important to me now)
At this point, I'm happy to gain 1/8"-1/4" per year for my efforts. I think this is a realistic goal for anyone with 1+ years of solid PE work. It might not seem like much, but in another 4 years that's an additional 1/2" - 1" of true gains.
Hopefully you do reach your goals as early as possible - but remember, it's not the end if/when things slow down!
