How does one define light and firm? What is light to me, could be firm to you, or vice versa. Is there any way to standardize this and make it less subjective? This is an issue I struggled with while starting PE, because I could never really translate someone mentioning what kind of grip tightness to use into physical reality because of the aforementioned issue of subjectivity.

5/14: BPEL 6.5 x MEG 5.3

Probably not. But I think one can tell the difference between squeezing hard and squeezing soft. It would be more difficult to differentiate between my perceived intense workout and yours, and what fatigues my unit might not fatigue yours. Bottom line though is that if what you are doing isn't working and you are doing things correctly with a good frequency, switching it up or down might be worth a try. I am happy where I am at so I am not changing a thing, but I have changed my opinion that "only" a firm grip will bring success.

A firm grip is really where you have more tension on the grip where is has some pull to it rather than hardly none. The higher the erection level the more you need to be conditioned for whether or not you use a soft or firm grip because yes, indeed, you can burst capillaries and even cause serious tears especially at the cavernosums which will lead to bruising as well from the breach.
As anything increased, you slowly get conditioned for it. Most of the injuries caused are from those who fall into the 'desperate gains desperate measures' category. If it takes a while in the gym weight training to really gain muscle mass which the body is meant to adapt to, then why on earth would one ever think gaining fibers and more ligament would be easier and not take more time? Common sense really avoids most injuries in general.Begin 7/25/2011:

Conditioning is key, which is why it is so important to begin and hang with the JP90 in the beginning months. I am beyond that and have now begun with a more intense routine...Getinbig's progress log
I am now adding squeezes for Girth and in particular am now doing SupraSlammers. These are intense, done with a firm grip and kegels that force more blood into the shaft and glans before the jelq and horse squeeze at the end. Really intense, but these must be done erect and with a firm grip, so again, conditioning and care seems extremely important to avoid injuries. I've not had red spots and hope to avoid any injuries, so I am moving slowing into doing the new routine.Start BPEL 4.9 MSEG 4.7

I will tell you, I choke my penis with that little OK sign with one hand, and then put my other hand on top of the hand making the OK sign, and squeeze real tight like, to double the force. The jelq is slow and careful, but you almost have to visualize the blood filling the chambers, and feel out the levels of pain that comes from it stretching its own holding place. Seeing as your intent is to stretch those chambers, i'd say, a loose grip, which allows much blood to flow back down your shaft, is silly. You must stretch the blood chambers, with the blood itself. From what i've learned, a tight grip , where in which you are monitoring your pain levels, would likely be more effective. However you must also keep in mind, that too much forcer may cause bleeding out from the urethra, so proper warmups... and maintenance of awareness would be intelligent.

Be careful with pain. If you get pain back off, before your dick pops open.

If you have a tendency to gain using intense techniques, then a firm grip with a slow stroke will work best.
If you gain better using the higher volume approach, then a lighter grip with quick strokes meant to induce a "pump" will work better. Usually, these types of jelqs are timed as well as counted.Want One FREE Month of Coaching? PM or email me for details- or CLICK HERE
