Absolutely. It is most definitely an individual thing. That is exactly why I said "you". I have worked up to a very firm slow jelq without causing any discoloration, discomfort, or injury of any kind. What "you" (meaning anyone in general) can handle could be more or less. PIs, PIs, PIs! Pay attention to them. If your body says ouch, you are likely getting carried away. You are advancing too quick and need to back down a bit.

EDIT: and yes my hand does get tired. I alternate hands and fingers in use to avoid cramping.
