  • Effect of edging?

    After my jelq session today i decided to try a small 10 minute edging session, my eq was a good 9 when i started and after edging my erection was a strong 10.

    Does edging help with keeping the penis in an engorged state by pushing the maximum amount of blood into it?

    i thought edging made eq slightly worse and it tended to make me turtle a bit, a was turtling slightly but i recovered then the edging made me turtle again.

      I was doing edging way before knowing or joing PE and i did not know they called it edging lol. But i was doing it for a year straight, and now i pretty much control when i can orgasm. I didnt gain from it, but i guess i can now go on for a long time while having sex

        I feel as I should warn you guys. Edging may work for penile enhancement / more blood to the penis / better control over ejaculation but I've always considered it harmful since it's basically substance abuse (dopamie and other neurotransmitters).

              Hmm. I too have been edging for many years, since I was a teenager, without knowing what it was called.

              I have had issues with ED and DE but since starting PE with structured edging both have improved dramatically.

              I didn't see any references to studies on edging in the video. The author may well have expert knowledge of brain chemistry to draw from but without the evidence to back it up it's just a hypothesis.

                Indeed, I've always though about it even without any warnings. You can't just pump so many chemically related good feelings in the blood and expect no withdrawal. Same with drugs and the likes.

                I guess it also depends on the intensity of those. Edging is a quite intensive feel-good thing, though.

                  It's a known fact that sex / ejaculation floods the brain with dopamine. You can easily check it out at sites like yourbrainonporn.com and the likes with many, many references and studies. Same goes for the other mentioned neurotransmitters I guess.. they go hand in hand, really.

                      It depends on how you edge. It is a bit difficult to explain, but you don't have to be in that super-aroused state the whole time you are edging. You can edge and at the same time not feel like you are about to explode, if you catch my drift. In other words, you seperate the mental from the physical. I guess that state of mind is also what enables you to hold off the orgasm.

                      Also, I think your overall mental state of mind is very important. If you go about edging in a relaxed way, and treat it like an exercise, it is pretty much a 100% positive experience. But if you work yourself up to be super horny and watch all kinds of freakish porn for hours and hours, you can bet it will not feel as good.

                      I don't know if the above makes any sense, but that is how I experience my edging sessions. It feels a lot healthier dan 'normal' masturbation, and has had tremendous positive effects with me.

                            To answer OP: yes, it helps your penis stay engorged.

                            In response to "edging is bad" video: There are many fallacies in that explanation, but more importantly, science does not understand the brain well enough to model it as a system, and therefore any recommendations made from pure theory should be taken with a handful of salt.

                            The proposals made from that video might be a good basis for a hypothesis for an experimental study that looks at the real effects of real people edging.

                            From my perspective though... this video warns about the negative consequences being

                            "heart palpitations, tachycardia, arrhythmia, anxiety, panic attacks, headache, tremor, and hypertension"

                            and

                            "addictions, depression, anhedonia, lack of ambition and drive, inability to love, low libido, erectile dysfunction, no remorse about personal behavior add/adhd, social anxiety disorder, antisocial behavior"

                            Which is such a broad range of effects, many of which are vaguely defined or can arise from multiple causes, that I'm going to go ahead and guess that this video is preying on the audience's fears and nothing more. Most people have some sort of problem, that is to say, most people aren't absolutely perfect, so most people (who edge) can watch this video and afterwards wonder, "Are my problems all caused from edging?"

                              From my experience when I edged too much porn thoughts used to come into my head and cause ED. I think visualizing too much about erotic sexual scenarios can have similar effects to watching porn.
