  • How important is the "feel" when doing an exercise?

As the headline states, how important is it that the feeling you get, lets say from a manual stretch, to PE?

For example, I tried a new stretch which many said was good, didnt really get any good feeling/stretch from it. When I tried another exercise it was ALOT of tension and demanding. Should you listen to your body in that way, if I train in a normal gym I always try and see what exercises gives me the best contact and feel.

Does the same apply to PE?

It's very important, but the ability to critique training by feel is better left to when you have enough experience to be able to determine the efficacy of an exercise. Someone just starting training might not know what to look for in a specific exercise.

Beginners should rely more on their training data and actuial gains. By correlating what works with what they're supposed to feel after performing an exercise, they'll develop the knack of what to look for.
