Hi. How are you guys doing?
I'm a 30 year old man. A few weeks ago I had a surgery to fix an ascending/retractile testicle. The surgery is called "orchiopexy'. The surgery was pretty much cosmetic since the doctor said that the testicle was atrophied as a result of having spent all its life in the higher part of my scrotum and also in my lower abdomen, nonetheless I still wanted to have the surgery even though it had risks but I wanted to know how it felt to have both testicles on the base of the scrotum. Anyways, it's been 4 weeks since the surgery and the testicle hasn't descended yet , it's still in the same location as it was before the surgery .. Also, I feel a hard lump on the high part of my scrotum... according to what I have read on the internet such hard lump is my spermatic cord which is swollen and might take some more time to heal... My question is... once the spermatic cord heals, do you think the testicle will descend to the base of the scrotum?
I know I should be asking these questions to the surgeon and I'll be having a follow up appointment this upcoming Friday but I wanted to know what you guys think about my situation.
Thank you

Ask the doc;I am sure he will give you a much better answer than anything we can speculate on!

If the testicle is atrophied, generally it is removed and a prosthetic one is inserted to replace it, giving a male both "balance" and a normal appearance. Generally, this is done to guard against testicular cancer from an undesended testicle when a male reaches puberty. You are very fortunate that didn't develop for you. I had 2 friends that had testicular cancer in college due to this; they both had surgery + chemo and recovered.
I had a testicular torsion injury from taking "hits" playing football and being a baseball catcher + hockey goalie in HS. My Urologist gave me the option of wearing a leather cuff or "balls stretcher" to hold my balls straight and keep them from twisting. I wore it 24/7 for over a year, and still wear it maybe 3 X per week while sleeping (primarily) to keep my balls straight and guard against ever developing a torsion again. Actually feels great during sex or generally when going commando too, and has made my hang much healthier and even increased the size of my balls due to better blood flow and a stretch my Urologist taught me when I had the injury. I still do my URO stretches 3 or more times a week to keep 'em healthy. You might want to ask your Urolohist about this after you're completely recovered from your surgery. It worked well for me!
If you're interested, my uro stretch is detailed in this thread, post # 5:

Hi Jackinthebox. Thank you for your reply..
Could you please tell me what kind of balls stretcher you bought? where did you buy it? how much did it cost you?
It turns out that the doctor didn't perform any orchiopexy... His assistant told me that they found the testicle to be "healthy" I don't know how this is possible given that the testicle is smaller than the other one and is also a very soft testicle...it feels liquid like soup... Given that my testicle is so soft do you think I would cause any problem by wearing a ball stretcher?
Thank you

BOLD TYPE ? above...that's a question you should ask your urologist.
I wear only leather balls stretchers or cuffs, because they breathe, keeping my testicles cooler, with less skin irritation. Leather cuffs generally cost $12-$20, depending on their quality. I recommend only leather ones with triple sewn seams, tucked edges and adjustable metal snaps to better fit the scrotum. Ones with an additional balls-divider strap may run a little more in cost. They're available on ebay, amazon or in many sex shops. Just search "ball-stretchers" and be sure to allow adult content on your browser. Also, when beginning to wear a balls-stretcher, buy a good quality tub of cocoa butter cream and apply it to your balls and/or the inside of the cuff before putting on the stretcher. It moisturizes and lubricates the skin and makes your cuff easier to adjust when putting it on. Hope this helps!
