Edging for stamina is all about avoiding the Point of No Return which is the pre-cursor to orgasm. If you simply do an extended masturbation session then are you really training to avoid the PONR? Waiting and rewarding yourself every couple of days is part of a good program. Think of it as earning your big O. I would try to master the technique without orgasm so that you get the full benefit. Once mastered, you could probably do what you want.
Maybe it's different for you, but when I ejaculate I seem to get some turtling effects and it just feels sore in a negative way rather than worked in a positive way.
When I was younger I had premature ejaculation. I didn't know about edging. I started to do like hour long jerk off sessions. I would usually ejaculate, but it got rid of my preE. If you are just doing it for gains and not premature ejaculation, then I would only ejaculate twice a week.
