How large is your fat pad?
this is weird i'm not fat at all actually i have 9% body fat, weigh in at 187 pounds and i'm 6' 2" but my fat pad is 1inch thick can't explain it

The thickness of the fat pad is not just a function of body fat percentage. It is partly determined by genetics, and it gets thicker with age, even if one keeps his body fat percentage stable.
I have about 0.15"-0.30" !
I'm on a strict weight loss plan, mainly to reduce my need for diabetes meds, or at least not to end up on dialysis. I was 220. My goal is 180. I have 30 pounds to go. My fat pad is over an inch, but since I'm older, it should be interesting to see where I stand when I get down to my goal. I'm at high risk for kidney failure, (which is what Kingpole has gone through), so I am motivated.
Average is about 0.6" !

In the 1996 UCSF study by Wessells et al, of 80 individuals age 21-82 they measured both NBPEL and "functional length" (BPEL). The difference between the average BPEL and NBPEL was 1.1" (average fat pad thickness).
