Hi guys,
I wanted to share my story of overcoming pretty terrible PE. Hopefully, it will help some of you in here.
Long story short: I supplemented with magnesium, large quantities of it, including taking it orally as well as applying some topically on the glans, the testes, and the perineum.
As for the results...
I had sex with a girl before trying this, and I experienced regular PE just like I had been since I first started having sex (15 years ago).
3 days later, after doing the magnesium thing above, I had absolutely no issues with premature ejaculation for the first time in my life (excepting those times when I was properly drunk).
The thing to point out is that I tried this magnesium thing two years ago, and it's still holding true. There are times when I feel I come more quickly, and upping the magnesium works again like a charm.
I got this idea from some posts that I read in here a while ago. I dug around for the research, found some articles by some scientists in Egypt. Honestly, the studies looked bogus because the correlation between IELT and magnesium levels were too spot on, but I gave it a try and it worked.
A few more points:
1. I tried taking magnesium previously and it didn't do anything for me. From what I've learned recently, there are different kinds of magnesium supplements, with very different absorption rates, and anyhow, the amounts I was taking when the PE disappeared were much higher than what a regular magnesium pill has.
2. I use magnesium chloride, basically magnesium salt flakes that come from the mythical Zechstein sea. If you get "magnesium oil," it's the same stuff, except it's been diluted in water for you, and it's twice the price.
I do the same thing at home by mixing the magnesium flakes with warm water, and then I randomly add about a 1/3 of a teaspoon of this to water and drink daily for maintenance, or several times daily when I feel I need more. From what I've read, magnesium is easily eliminated from the body and there is little risk of taking too much.
Like I said, I also apply this topically to the glans and so on.
3. I tried many things before this (kegels, diet, supplements, meditation, anything short of taking antidepressants), and nothing had absolutely any effect, except drinking a bottle of wine by myself before having sex.
That's about it. If anybody has any questions, fire away. I'll be glad to help because this was the forum where I got the idea to begin with.

If you were to stop taking such a heavy dose of magnesium and go back to normal, would your PE return ?

There is a point where Magnesium can become toxic and even fatal in some circumstances. Consult a professional and do your research on accredited sites before just diving in and following one success story on an internet forum.

I did try other magnesium (don't know which type specifically, whatever they sell at the drug store), at the recommended dose, and it didn't do anything.
I don't have an exact measure of how much magnesium I take daily. Basically, I mix the magnesium flakes with water at a ratio of half-half by volume. I then add a few drops of this mix (my estimate is about a third of a teaspoon or less) to more water and then drink it. That's my regular daily dose, usually in the evening before sleep.
And yes, I take it every day. Magnesium is something we need and supposedly 80% of us are deficient anyhow, and the deficiency can cause all kinds of health issues. In short, supplementing with magnesium is more likely to be good for you than bad.
As for applying it to the skin, I simply take a fraction of a teaspoon of the magnesium liquid and rub it on there. I only do this occasionally, once every few days or weeks. Frankly, I have no idea whether it's doing anything on top of actually taking magnesium orally, though there are a lot of people who swear by applying magnesium dermally for other health issues (look up "magnesium oil" on Google and you'll see what I mean).

Anyone who is thinking about this...
Have your levels checked to see if you have deficiencies in them.
Then supplement/fix your diet and tell us your results.
This way we can have a correlation between lower levels of mag and PreE.

While I normally agree with getting a physical and having tests done before supplementation, the advice above is not applicable as far as I know. Magnesium levels are hard to test for. The tests are not reliable.
The body is usually good at metabolizing magnesium unless there is some kind of kidney illness. In which case, magnesium should only be taken under the direction of a doctor.
I have never thought of magnesium as a supplement for PreE but it makes sense because it is a laxative and muscle relaxant. So I imagine that there is some interaction with relaxing the pelvic floor especially if a topical application is used.I came here for the EQ, but I stayed for PE

Ahhh ok . Spasm will cause pre e . A lack of magnesium can definite cause spasm . If you have too little magnesium can it cause pre e yes it can , Is it very common probably not so much .
Me I take magnesium at times because it is good for general cramps (spasm ) which I get in my feet and back of shoulder . Some of you may benefit from supplementing with it to a moderate amount.
Personally I'd rather be...
