Try sitting on a tennis ball or something similar. Since I discovered I have an extremely tight pelvic floor (no APT) I decided to give the whole tennis ball massage a try. I played video games for about 5 hours yesterday and would do a 10-20 min massage every now and then while varying the pressure I applied. That night I edged and I was able to stimulate the head of my penis a lot more than usual. Just a thought for you.

Hiya,
I did the massage once with a lacrosse ball. I went really hard and afterwards I could pee more freely than I've ever could before. My pelvic floor was sore as shit the next day though, so that scared me off it for a while. I don't want to damage the equipment after all. Since then, I've done the massage with my fingers, which is more gentle than the lacrosse ball. I'll give the tennis ball a try as well.
Have you had any issues with soreness after massage?

Hi, yep using a hard ball can be very effective, you are basically giving yourself a deep tissue massage there. I wouldn't go in very hard though, especially at first as the pain can actually make your muscles tense up. The trick is to relax as much as possible to trick your nervous system into believing there is no pain/threat and so the muscles relax even further. Very similar to trigger point therapy.
You mentioned the sympathetic system, these tense muscles are putting you into fight or flight, your muscles are telling the system there is a threat, (even though there isn't) this is the problem with the sympathetic system - it almost works too well!
So go gentle at first with the massages.

p.s i think most people will feel sore after their first deep tissue or sports massage. You are breaking up the muscle, this wouldn't worry me. My main concern would be that my muscles aren't tensing during the massage.

Yes, I would be sore after some of the lacrosse ball sessions. Then, I would not sit all my weight on it the next time. I also had sat on a tennis ball in the car for about a month before switching to the lacrosse ball. Play around the ball hardness, the amount of body weight you use, and keep listening to your body. I agree with Paul789 that some muscle soreness is normal. I usually did back off a bit or gave myself a little time to recover. But, for months, my pelvic floor always felt something different due to the massage, stretching, and RKs. Just now after about 5 months, my pelvic floor is starting to feel more “normal” - I’m getting used to the more flexible feeling and have less sore days.

it's great you're getting improvement. When i was using a hard ball i would use both my hands to regulate my weight as I lowered down onto the ball. I stretch most days but i love using balls and foam rollers as they really 'get into' the muscle.

oh and also set backs are normal, when you first start working on a tense muscle it can really aggravate it, this was normal for me for many weeks.

I did experience some soreness, yes, but it wasn't anything I was concerned about. The first time can be really tough too because these muscles were used to being tense and then are being relaxed through the massage. Think about your first deep body massage and how you felt after that. If you incorporate the tennis ball into your routine I would definitely recommend easing into it.

Been doing ten minute squats after reading another thread here. There's definitely some potential there, my pf feels more stretched. I think I overdid it though. When I go to bed, I can't sleep because I feel like I need to pee even though I can't. I think my pf is overstretched. My eq has been bad the last 2 times I edged. I'm even thinking about doing some kegels, but I'll give the squats a rest for a few days first and see.
I've also started using porn again when edging, because it's hard for me to plateau at higher arousal levels with my own imagination. So far, I can comfortably plateau at moderately high levels (6,7,8). I always make sure I get myself hard at the start without any visual or mental stimulation though, just my hand. I hope I'm not fucking with my own progress by going back to porn, but damn, porn is fun.

Had sex today.
EQ was poor, but I managed to thrust in missionary position for quite a few minutes. I managed to plateau around 6.5 for a while, but once I got in the vicinity of 7 I lost control and jumped right to orgasm.
My PF feels looser, but I think it's time to start doing kegels again, and maybe try to get more practice plateauing around 7 when I edge.
