Starting this as a progress log to really get serious. First a little about me, where I started, what I've done so far, where I'm at right now, and my plan forward.
About me: I'm 27 years old and I've suffered with control my whole life. In college I mostly stuck with condoms and would last maybe about 10 minutes. I then went a couple of years with minimal sexual contact and would only masturbate to go to sleep once a week max, maybe only once every two weeks. I believe my issue is from years of poor habits reinforced by a couple of bad experiences.
Where I started: I first accepted the fact that I had a problem about a year ago. I was pretty bad, a couple times I had "misfires" before penetration or would reach PONR within a couple of strokes. I would only last past that being heavily intoxicated and even then it would be 5-10 minutes max.
What I've done so far: For the past year I've been "practicing" with start and stops and experimenting with kegels. I believe my Kegels are real strong as I can hold for 100 seconds easily. I experimented a little with RK but never followed a real routine with them. I've devoted most of my time on start and stops and kegels. When I first started Start/Stops I couldn't make it past 10 minutes. I now have pretty good control 90% of the time. Every now and then it seems like I am stopping A LOT during a session. Even when this happens I make sure to go for at least 20 minutes.
Where I'm currently at: I practice start-stop 4-6x a week and will only ejaculate once every 3 days. I don't watch porn and will use my very active imagination but sometimes get too excited doing that. I have a long term gf so if we have sex I resent my day counter (every session ends with me ejaculating). I'll switch between using my hands and a fleshlight depending on the sensitivity that day. I always use lube. I am also jelqing a lot (5-10 minutes) prior to start/stops. I have seen improvements in my performance in bed but still struggle with control. I'd say about 90% of the time I finish earlier than I would like, only once before penetration in the past 6 months. I'm lasting about 5 minutes on average after about 2 drinks (not heavily intoxicated but not sober either). Occasionally my confidence will drop due to me seeing little progress over the past year of dealing with this but thankfully my gf is understanding. Still I want to please her and the guy before me she nicknamed 50 shades of Persia...
Plan forward: Continue with start/stops, increase minimum time to 30 minutes and try to increase intensity steadily. Practice daily affirmations during stretching. Try to work start/stops into sex at least once a week to get used to having sex longer (gf doesn't like stopping, condoms or foreplay so it seems like things are stacked against me).
Am willing to listen to what's worked for people/routines they've found help. I've read a lot of the success stories so it seems like start/stops is the most effective route.
