Hey guys,
I have been reading a lot of the posts regarding edging and ballooning recently and it seems there is a bit of conflicting view on this matter so wanted to get more thoughts by starting this new thread.
Based on plateau edging and many other threads (Incl. a couple of sticky threads), it seems popular opinion is that you need to take it slow to PONR (whether edging or ballooning). Does that mean you need to target ~20 min mark and only then try to reach and stay near PONR (1st PONR)? And once you get to the point where it takes longer to reach the 1st PONR at the same level of stimulation, (only then) you start to introduce more intense stimulation?
What's confusing to me is that we can essentially control the level of stimulation such as speed, wet/dry, STU / hands, imagination, etc. For example, if I completely cut out of any imagination and do dry edging with my hands, it can take me ~15 mins to reach the first PONR. But if I use my STU and introduce some imagination (and especially after girth exercise which makes my unit quite sensitive), I can surely reach PONR in ~5 mins. Even if I kill my erection with rk in less than 10 secs and stop for a bit, I realized that it takes much less time to reach the 2nd and 3rd PONR after the 1st PONR (2 - 3 mins).
So what's most helpful to increase stamina? Get to PONR as many times and stay near PONR as long as possible (basically what I have been doing for a while...) or try to prolong the time it takes to reach the 1st PONR by using low level of stimulation? FYI - I'm doing pelvic floor + rk exercises as well. I also realized that the underside of my penis is extremely sensitive so recently started doing ballooning to gain more control.
Haven't seen much progress over the past few months so I thought it would be good time to check whether I'm doing things right or should change the way I'm doing these exercises. Also, I completely quit porn about a month ago, which led to increased sensitivity so I guess this doesn't help either...
Appreciate any help!

Pegasus,
Thanks for your help as always!! Just to clarify, (sorry for using my own personal scale below as I think this will help me understand better)
My arousal progression in terms of IK typically goes:
1. Feels sensation while completely relaxed
2. Urge starts to creep up and very mild IK begins when thrusting (NO IK when pulling out) - start doing rk
3. Getting closer to PONR and mild IK begins when pulling out as well - start doing stronger rk
4. Closer to PONR with stronger IK - keep doing rk
5. Very near PONR with a series of strong IK
So based on the edging progression in the threads you shared, you stop at every step above (2, 3, 4 and 5), start building up to the next step after stopping at each step (1 -> 2 -> 1 -> 3 -> 1 -> 4 -> 1 -> 5), and reach near PONR (basically for the 1st time) by the end of the edging session, correct? This proves that I have been doing things wrong for a whilebut I will keep going for sure...
Thanks again for all the help!

Balance your pelvic floor and you will not get IK( as such you will still get orgasm contractions).
So look to your out of sex k/rk routine ,yoga style stretches etc as per the numerous threads including some in the must read stickies.
It may be possible to get...
