    In the previous several months I've made some lifestyle changes in an attempt to fix my pre-e. Those changes include, but are not limited to:

    • Giving up porn entirely
    • doing kegel exercises
    • masturbation only in the form of edging
    • incorporation of visualization, relaxation, and distraction


    While I feel I've made definite gains in some "training," it's really hard to gauge it without a comparison against real sex with a woman. I figured I should turn to the vets so that they could critique my training and make suggestions. Additionally, I feel like my manner of approach includes some unique aspects to it.

    Here's what my kegel routine has looked like the past 2 weeks:

    KEGEL ROUTINE:
    I do this routine Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, resting on every other day. As the weeks go by, I add a different wrinkle into my routine or increase the time of holds.


    • 10repsx10seconds of alternations: 10 seconds of a pc hold, 10 seconds relaxing, 10 seconds of quick clenches, 10 seconds relaxing: repeating and alternating for 10 reps.



    • 10repsx15second holds: clench and hold my pc for 15 seconds, then relax for 15 seconds: repeat for 10 reps.



    • 10repsx10seconds of "waves": clench my pc really tight and then relax it halfway and tighten it back for 10 seconds, resting for 10 inbetween.



    • 10repsx5/10/15/20/25 second holds: I hold my pc for 5 seconds, then rest for 30; then hold for 10 seconds, then rest for 30; I do this until I get to 25 seconds. I repeat this pyramidal climb twice for a total of 10 reps.


    EDGING ROUTINE:

    I do this 3-6 times a week depending on how busy I am and how much sleep I can get. I always do it before bed. I always do it lying down.

    I start lying down in bed with a flaccid. Lately I've been visualizing myself having prolonged sex without ejaculating as a way of warming myself up and getting my boner. (For more info on visualization, check out this other thread of mine: https://www.pegym.com/forums/prematu...straction.html ) Once I am erect, I apply lube and stroke myself at a slow to moderate speed. I've reached the point where I can stroke for 10-18minutes before I even reach my "first signs of pleasure" (FSP), which is an arousal level of 7.5 or higher. After I reach my FSP, I use a variety of techniques to manage my pleasure control: kegeling, (sorta) reverse kegeling, breathing and relaxation, mental distraction, changing the speed of my stroking, etc... My edging sessions last anywhere from 25minutes to an hour, and I only ejaculate 1-3 times per week. And each time I do ejaculate, it's because I've flirted too much with the PONR. When I reach the PONR, I use a hard kegel squeeze to hold it back. Occasionally some pre-cum comes out. Sometimes none comes out. Sometimes I ejaculate. Nonetheless, I feel like I could potentially be setting myself up nicely for MMO.

    My edging routine in summation:
    • Visualization: 10-15 minutes (no touch)
    • Edging: 25minutes-60minutes (with lube)
    • FSP: around the 15min mark.
    • Ejaculation: 1-3 times per week.



    GENERAL COMMENTS, CONCERNS, and QUESTIONS:
    One, I do my kegels as a unit. I haven't learned isolation yet but that hasn't seemed to impede me yet. Two, I don't intentionally do reverse kegels. But the more I think about it, the more I wonder if the way my kegel routine is set up automatically includes reverse kegels. With my 10second rests between reps, I make a conscious effort to relax my muscles down there. Am I doing reverse kegels? I'm beginning to think I might be kegel-innate.

    I've progressed a far way from where I began. But the question still remains: How will all this "progress" translate to actual sex? Furthermore, where do I go from here?

    If I may suggest doing different positions when edging. If you edge standing or on your knees you get more blood flow to the penis and is most likely the position you will spend most time in when having sex. I notice I last a lot longer on my back then missionary because as a kid thats the way I always masturbated. Just my 2 cents hope I can help.

    It would seem reverse kegel work is in order difficult to know exactly what is happening when you say relax.

    Yeah, I agree, when you "relax" are you actually pushing your PC out, or are you simply releasing the squeeze?

    As for where do you go from here, I see you're basically doing only doing 10 reps of kegels, if that's not leaving you sore, and has become easy enough for you, raise the reps to 15. When that becomes easy, raise to 20, etc. I'm up to 50, 5 second holds right now and could go for more but I don't see the point, it'd be a waste of time.

    With the Edging routine, I'd continue as you're doing. No need to go for longer than 1 hour, heck I don't even go for longer than 30 mins anymore if I can help it. The goal is simply to not masturbate as if you're in a race for time, so simply keep doing that to get your body accustomed to lasting longer. Do like you're doing when you reach a high level of arousal to help you control it. These are tools you'll need when having sex.

    Fighter, I do agree with your advice. At some point I will have to vary my edging positions. The reason I do it lying down is pretty straightforward: I always edge at night before bed and I usually edge for an extended period of time (20minutes to 60 minutes). Maybe I'll start using different positions, even if only for 5-10minute spurts.

    Pegasus, in between my reps I relax my pc muscles, which feels like "climbing down stairs" and ends with a bit of a bulge in my anus. I do this because if I don't, I wear myself out quicker during kegels. Isn't this faint bulging sensation what is meant by a reverse kegel? And didn't MinuteMan suggest doing Ks and RKs in back to back sequences? (PS, yes I've read all the various threads on RKs and yes I've seen JM's advice to use periphery muscles such as the abs.)

    when I relax, I'm doing a bit of both: I release the tension out of my pc squeeze, releasing it to the point where it creates a bulge in my anus/taint area. While I'm only doing 10 reps of each exercise, I'm doing a total of 4 different sets, leaving me at a total time of 425 seconds of "time under tension." (ie, of actual exercising time) Your routine of of 50x5sec holds gives you a total of 250 seconds of time under tension, assuming that's the only exercise in your kegel routine. I also remember hearing that long, firm, kegel holds were more beneficial than many short clenches. Also, I've decided to shorten my edging routine but to make it more intense. As per the advice of JM, I've started experimenting with the death grip as well as giving my glans extra attention (ballooning and whatnot).

    Ahh I see, so when you "relax" that's actually a reverse kegel you're doing from what you're describing. and for your kegel training, if you do all that work then that's just fine. It's like going to the gym, more isn't necessarily better. the PC is still a muscle, so it can be over-trained. Maybe try holding for longer periods of time and doing less reps/sets? I personally just do 3 sets, 1x100 fast squeezes ( no holds ), 1x50 5 sec holds, and 1x1 1 minute hold. The next day I try and do the same, only I do reverse kegels instead. But your kegel routine seems just fine in my opinion, just listen to your body, if you think you could do more, try it and listen to what your body tells you after.
