I'm a lifelong PE sufferer.
I'm working on edging now but having difficulty getting and maintaining an erection without ejaculating.
I don't think this is a PE issue per se.
When masturbating, I often times go from being soft and feeling almost nothing and not getting an erection while starting to mastrubate, to then eventually feeling the need to ejaculate and then super quickly getting hard and ejaculating. Sometimes the ejaculation comes before even getting really hard.
So it's nothing and soft, and then can quickly go to ejaculation.
Could this be more of an ED/EQ issue.?It is related to PE in the sense everything is just about ejaculation so there wasn't much of a point to need to be hard while masturbating.
Sometimes I can break this cycle and get an erection and do edging properly, but a lot of times when I start to edge I don't really feel anything at first when masturbating and stay soft. I might as well be masturbating my arm.
Anyone else have something similar?

I know this feeling very well.
This used to be my masturbation habit for as long as I can remember.
I can not even remember one single time that I felt like jerking of because I was aroused and had an erection already. For me it always was the other way round. A thought like "I could use an orgasm now ..." and I started wanking in only that single direction. I rushed through all levels of arousal or even jumped over most of them and so either my penis had time to get to 100% erection and with it instantly ejaculating or, like you mentioned, it was even too fast to get a full erection and ejaculating while soft or 50% erected.
Even if you think you don't have any preE issue by now (and I hope so) I can recommend you to analyze your masturbation habits. They might lead you towards serious preE problems very likely.

I agree with Matt, your arousal increases far quicker than your erection.
Mind ahead of body.
Over tensed pelvic floor.
Are you following a kegel/reverse kegel routine? Yoga poses?..

I've started doing the kegels/Rkegels. I can see how the yoga might help the PE.
The problem is I realize now I have no desire to masturbate. If my erections aren't good or automatic what's the point.
I was wondering if there might be some sort of chemical imbalance or if the PE has casued ED. Once I get an erection i don't have a problem, but now the desire to get an erection often isn't there.

I highly recommend that you take advantage of that state. PE sufferers, like you and me, have this incessant need to escalate arousal, like people at read lights tapping their feet and honking the horn. I say there ~is~ a point spending some time in non-aroused masturbation. It can be a hard state to even run into some times. But it can also be a starting point. No one really wants to wait until the body says hey, you're good to go. Ultimately we'd like to be able to decide when and where we get turned on. So it's a really good thing to be able to sit with this unaroused state, be patient with it, and learn to play with, work with it, and turn it into arousal, all without rushing. Trying to run from nothing to aroused trains the better to jump gears, and you know what, it's gets almost way too good at it. Every time you feel that ~impatient~ need to escalate your arousal state, put the feeling away - you have time, the goal is one you value, so stamp out that impatience bug and you may find it's turns into one of your keys.
