Wasn't sure I should post this or not. Meds aren't really a good alternative to some of the training methods for PE, but if it can temporarily help some people last longer and gain some confidence then why not.
After having a really shit year full of tragedies and relationship problems, I have finally put my male ego to a side and have gotten help. I was prescribed citalopram (anti-depressent) 2 weeks ago and was surprised to see that delayed ejacualation was a common side effect. PE isn't a problem for me as such, I can't pound away but I can go around 20 mins usually. I have noticed that for the past 4-5 days or so it has been getting harder and harder to finish (masturbation). I also noticed far less involuntary kegals, it's worth noting here that EQ hasn't suffered at all.
I do have some thoughts on this though. Firstly it could just be psychological as I'm expecting the delayed ejaculation. Although I would have thought the involuntary kegals would be purely a physical reaction? Also I have just split with my gf of 9 years so that could have something to do with it, although my sex drive doesn't seem to have taken a hit. Also I haven't had sex since being on these.
It's all speculation at the minute but I shall keep people updated as to whether the citalopram is working as a possible PE 'fix'. I have heard that some docs have actually prescribed citalopram to PE sufferers.
Has anyone on here tried citalopram, and if so how did you find it?
Regards Jamie

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear that you started taking citalopram. That's exactly the drug that caused my PE. I was perfectly fine until I foolishly took that stuff. Now I have permanent side effects, even though I've been off the drugs for 5 years. I hope you do not suffer the same result, or worse. Since you are already on the drug, my advice would be that if you feel like it is getting too difficult to reach orgasm, don't push it. Just relax and stop. I think that forcing myself to orgasm when it wasn't really comfortable may have been a contributing factor to my current condition. It felt like something got fried in my brain. Also, if/when you stop taking the citalopram, wean yourself off of it very slowly over a long period of time.

Antidepressants, ssri's, snri's, amphetamine, none of these are good for pre e, they help delay ejaculation but in the end they make it worse. Alternative for those who cannot go without medical help is d.x.m. Only to be prescribed by doctor and used with caution.
