    Hi PEGym!

    I have not been an active participant of these forums in many moons, but have quite an extensive history on the site. I used to actually be a mod here nearly a decade ago and have decided to get back into it due to recent developments in my life.

    My main focus at the moment is achieving consistent, rock hard erections. My EQ fluctuates wildly, and I'd say ~ 1/5 times that my partner and I attempt sex I am unable to get turned on/hard at all. I believe there are several factors that cause this, but I know my issues are not physical as I am a 29 year old, very active and healthy person who exercises 5+ days a week and eats a largely plant based diet. I believe my issues to be partly hormonal and partly psychological.

    Hormonal:
    I am a former heavy alcoholic, who at my worst times was drinking a fifth of alcohol a night. This is what I believe caused my issues to begin. I am ~ 1.5 years clean from alcohol, however when I quit I used weed (sometimes lightly, sometimes heavily) as a crutch. I believe that weed lowered my interest in sex more than alcohol ever had. I am currently 3 weeks and 3 days completely sober and I think my hormones are still largely in flux. In general I am much more interested in sex and I find it easier to get hard already, but I often need constant stimulation to stay hard still (unless I'm REALLY turned on). I think that over my years of substance abuse I used porn along with masturbation to force myself to get hard rather than achieving erection through relaxation and being turned on, which has also led to a bit of physical dependence on stimulation to be erect.

    Psychological:
    The above issues have caused me some psychological trauma as well, as anyone who has suffered from ED knows it can be pretty anxiety-provoking wondering if now is going to be the time when I am unable to perform. My current partner is very patient generally, but has had frustrations and negative reactions at times when I've been unable to perform. For the most part I feel I am over the performance anxiety aspect, especially since being sober I feel much more confident, but it still creeps into my brain sometimes.

    Moreso, my partner has had some sexual trauma in her past and has wildly varying reactions to me initiating sex. Unless she is drunk she typically does not act interested in sex. She tells me that even if she is not acting interested I need to just do what I want and will tell me "just fuck me", but for me psychologically I need to feel like my partner is into it and if I don't feel that way then I absolutely can't perform. So I try foreplay, kissing, touching etc but she will turn me down 90% of the time. Because I often fear being turned down this feeds my performance anxiety and has recently led to feelings that she is just not attracted to me (which she claims is not true and I believe she really is attracted to me but just has her own issues). She only drinks 1-2 times a week, so those are the only nights we end up having sex because that is the only time I feel confident that she actually wants me, but I want to have sex more frequently and sober.

    My current plan is as follows:

    1) I plan to talk to my partner and let her know how I am feeling. We have talked in the past and are both open with our issues, but with me now being sober my mindset has changed and I feel we need to talk again. When I was using weed I had less frequent urges for sex so was more ok with us not having regular sex.

    2) Continue my healthy lifestyle of exercise, yoga, meditation, and healthy diet.

    3) Restart a stretching/jelqing/kegel routine. I vividly remember how powerful my erections could be in the past especially when I started doing PE.

    4) Start an edging/sensory restoration routine. What I mean by this is slow, relaxed edging where I specifically use light touch and nothing more to achieve and maintain my erection. No working myself up, no forced kegels, no porn. Just relaxation and enjoying the sensations.

    Week 1: Starting off Slow (1 On/1 Off)
    Stretching and Kegels: I plan to stretches and to do kegels and reverse kegels with a 1 second hold while I stretch.

    Upwards x 5
    Straight out x 5
    Circles to the left x 5 (no kegels)
    Circles to the right x 5 (no kegels)

    Total = 25 kegels and reverse kegels while stretching.


    Jelqing:Jelq x 50, 3 seconds per jelq


    Edging:
    20 minutes of relaxed, light edging. No using artificial means of achieving erection. By that I mean no manipulating my breath/working myself up, no aggressive masturbation/stimulation, no porn. Only relaxed, slow, meditative breathing, light touching, and focus on the sensations I'm feeling to achieve and maintain my erection. No finishing, finishing only allowed during sex.


    Week 2:
    Same routine, except 10x kegels/reverse kegels during each stretch, 100 jelqs/session.

      I followed my routine posted above to a tee, except I only had ~ 10 minutes to edge. I was able to work myself up to a full erection in those 10 minutes using only light touch and staying relaxed which is great, 2 days prior when I tried it took me a full 20 minutes to get erect.

      I had great, relaxed, and natural sex with my partner the day prior AND she gave me a great blowjob. Its rare for us to have natural sex and by that I mean we were laying in bed cuddling/feeling each other up and it just evolved into sex without me having to make myself hard or anything. Today I will take the day off from PE but my unit just feels good. I haven't experienced any fatigue at all from my workout so it may not be intense enough but I figured its better to work my way up slowly.

        Just thinking outside the box here... But plant based/vegan diets are often really lacking in certain nutrients that are essential for our endocrine system and hormone production. I have experienced this myself when I was vegan. I really struggled with it, had ed and severe confidence issues and anxiety. I added more animal products and it really turned things around for me quickly. I looked physically much better very quickly too.

        I would recommend adding oily fish once or twice a week, whole eggs 3 or 4 times a week and some red meat in your diet. That is the real game changer believe me...

          Thanks man I appreciate the input. I have been eating more red meats the last week or two than I was previously, not sure if it's made a difference or not. I definitely should try to eat more fatty fish.

            I followed my routine again on 2/24 and 2/27, my penis is feeling great and full. It's been easier and easier for me to get hard already but unfortunately that hasn't translated into more sex.

            All week my partner has been pushing me away when I tried to initiate sex. We talked today for nearly an hour and I told her how I am feeling down. Getting rejected so often really hurts my confidence and makes me fearful of even initiating. She talked about how in order to get turned on I really need to take charge more and kiss her, tickle her, do other things rather than just trying to be sexual. This lead to me realizing/admitting that I probably still have some fears that I won't be able to perform that cause me to hold back from really initiating fully. It has been a week since we last had sex, but I feel much more confident in myself and in us than I did before today. We also agreed to schedule time with a sex therapist; I want to go together but she wants to go on her own first because she knows she has some issues that she wants to address.

            Overall things were productive this week. Even though we did not have much sex I am feeling more confident in my ability to get erect for sure.

            Next week I plan to do my PE Mon/Tue and Thurs/Fri, bumping my Jelqs to 100 each day and 10x kegels during my stretching. My penis did not feel fatigued at any point this week.

              I've decided to start taking the 5 G's (ginkgo biloba, ginger root, green tea extract, ginseng, and garlic) as well as fish oil and a multivitamin. Multivitamin and fish oil to ensure I don't have any deficiencies (I don't think I do but this is giving me peace of mind) and the others just to see if they have any effect on my libido and EQ. I am already feeling at a placebo effect, even if that's all I ever get I think it will be worth it.

                3/1/21:

                Last night my gf and I had wonderful, spontaneous sex. We were watching TV on the couch, I was fading in and out of sleep and about to go to bed.                   I have been in a bit of a depression last week. I think it was last Wednesday 3/3 my GF and I tried to have sex. It started at the kitchen table and her telling me that she wanted me, I got hard and we were kissing so we went up to my room and then I couldn't get hard again. She went down on me, touched me, let me touch her etc. Finally after ~10 minutes of playing with myself while she played with herself I was able to get hard and fuck her, but I lost it again while fucking her and we basically ended up masturbating. I was binging pretty hard on junk food, wasn't sleeping well etc. My GF has been gone since Saturday but she came back yesterday and I finally worked out and ate healthily for the first time this week. I am feeling really motivated and I've realized when I start to feel depressed that if I stop taking care of myself (eating healthily, exercising, sleeping enough etc) that it causes me to spiral. If take care of myself and extend that to other things in life (staying caught up on chores etc) that I feel much more confident and happy.

                  I did my PE routine Monday and Tuesday, took yesterday off, and did my routine again this morning. I think the routine is causing a little residual fatigue so I will continue this same routine next week instead of amping the intensity up. Monday and Tuesday I have very little luck staying hard during my edging portion, but today I had a wonderful rock hard erection the whole time. I've also been taking my supplements daily.

                    Last week I bumped the volume up on my workouts, going with:

                    75 quick kegels + helicopter spins (warmup)
                    Directional stretches + 15 1 sec hold kegel/reverse kegels in each direction
                    Jelq x 150
                    Edge x 10-20 mins

                    This definitely caused some fatigue, so I went just M,W,F last week. All of my PIs were positive last week and I am feeling good. Looking forward to this week! I have been very horny especially the last couple of days..

                      I previously was trying not to finish while edging, however since I started that my stamina has been shit because I'm always on the edge of cumming! I decided I will finish every other day, so if I did not cum at all the previous day then I will finish when I'm edging. I have a good feeling that finishing more often will also make me more horny.

                      I have been smoking pretty heavily the last month, but I am going to stop today. Other than that things have been pretty good, I have been exercising and eating decent (until Saturday/Sunday). We've had sex a couple times the last couple weeks and haven't had any issues, but I just have not been horny in general (I have a lot going on externally and like I said I've been smoking, which I think makes me less horny).                         I had a great workout today, followed my same routine as noted above.

                        Warmup:
                        Fire starters x 30 seconds - I wanted to try a different warmup method as previously I've just been doing helicopter shakes. These still weren't anything amazing. I just ordered an electric hot pad from Amazon to use going forward as the general consensus seems to be that heat is very important for girth, which is definitely more important to me.
                        Kegels x 100

                        Stretching:
                        Directional stretches x 20 1 second kegel/reverse kegel holds in each direction.

                        Jelq:
                        3 second Jelq x 150

                        Edging:
                        7 minutes, did not finish since I finished yesterday.

                        It really feels like I am progressing well, my PIs continue to be strong. I feel as though I am getting and maintaining erections better than I have in a while. I still don't feel much motivation for sex but everything else is trending in the right direction.

                        I am considering purchasing a penis pump, as over my years here that seems to be the most consistent way to gain girth. I think I may get a bathmate and start incorporating that in my routine as I always shower post-session. I will hold off until I reach my length goals (or get pretty close to them) before I incorporate this, though. Maybe once I'm over 7" BPEL.

                          I decided to measure a couple after my routine today and my results were much better than I expected!! I figured I gained a little, but my girth gains are honestly more than I expected. I'm sure these are mostly EQ gains.

                          I am skeptical of the MSEG gains but the ruler don't lie. I was planning on incorporating pumping starting next week, but given that I've made gains I think I will continue this same routine for the next month and then will re-measure and re-assess. I think the above routine x 4 days a week is enough intensity for me for now so I plan to stick with it.

                            Things have been going really well as far as my routine goes. I can tell that I am getting erections easier and easier all the time. I think that not watching any porn and just using light touch/focusing on sensations during masturbation is making my dick more sensitive/responsive. Unfortunately I still am not having a lot of sex with my girlfriend (about once a week currently still) but it is ok. I haven't been focusing on that and all in all I feel like my cock is working better than it has in quite a while. It has been 3 weeks I think since I last had an issue performing so that's been nice!

                            I also added in 50 quick kegels while sitting on my couch last night. I think increasing my total daily # of kegels will continue to make my cock get erect easier. My current plan is to continue this exact routine for another month, except with more kegels each week. Whenever I plateau I will then add in pumping, I actually ordered one last night so hopefully I can resist the urge to add it right in!

                              I had great sex with my girl last night. We were just lying around relaxing after dinner and I got hard really quickly when she touched me.
