Red bumps and ingrown hairs with PE

I have been having more and more problems with PE, lubrication for jelquing, and red bumps/ingrown hairs due to shaving. I frequently shave my shaft, because due to what is some combination of genetics and circumcision issues, i have hair growing almost 3/4 up my shaft. not very thick, but frequent enough and rough enough to cause a lot of irritation. I shave in the shower, with some shaving creme and a hydro 5 razor.

It usually feels fairly irritated, but to varying degrees after the shower. If i proceed to do my routine, I go through it and eventually jelq with vaseline. I think maybe it is causing some of the irritation. also, perhaps the dryness i have on that skin after i shave. the shaving cream washes off in the shower usually immediately after, and i do shave against the grain. I find it hard to not go against the grain, I am afraid someone would notice.

I am already satisfied with my size, but I want to make additional gains to some extent, about .25-.75 more in length, and .5 in girth would be my ideal upper goals.

I am considering what I need to do, and I hope you all can help me. Should I change anything in my process? Should i use additional moisturizing, change what i use to jelq, dry jelq instead, change what i shave with, etc?

Wax Or use an electric shaver, doesn't get 100% smooth but doesn't give razor burn or ingrown hairs, and still short enough to jelq.

electric shaver seems to cause BLEEDING for me, rips the skin right off. then it gets very irritated even when i don't cause the bleeding.

I treat my pubes the same way I treat my face. Use shaving cream, shave, and use aftershave. I make sure to shower with fairly hot water to make the shaving easier and less irritating and then lather the shaving cream as much as possible (4-5 minutes or so). Makes shaving MUCH easier and pleasant.

After the first couple of times, you need your skin to get used to the shaving, and if you keep using the aftershave, the bumps will go away on their own. I don't know how quickly your hair grows, but use some common knowledge and shave whenever you feel the need. Don't shave TOO often though, as this can cause further irritation. As for the dryness, Vitamin E lotion will do wonders to keep your dick moisturized and looking healthy.

Instead of using vaseline for your jelqs, think of using some kind of massage oil or lubes that don't dry quickly, but personally I use massage oil because its slick and doesn't dry easily. Jelqing with something that's much less viscous (more slick) will help with your technique and will be less irritating for your skin.

I have a very similar situation. I have hair growing all the way up to where my circumcision scar is, which, like your own, is about 3/4 up my shaft. I fucking hate it, but girls don't seem to care so much. That said, I do a pretty involved trim-job every three days or so. I use an electric razor. I can't imagine why it would tear your skin off, unless you're thinking of a trimmer. I actually do have to start with a trimmer if I've let it grow for a while, but I do it very carefully -- almost to not even touch the skin. Then I come back in with the rounded face of the electric razor.

I used a straight razor (Mach 5 or some shit) a few times. I would not recommend it, although it turned out alright for the few times I did do it. If you keep using the straight razor, you're going to get that kind of irritation, though. I feel like the intense exfoliation provided by a straight razor is going to be too much for that sensitive skin. I put aftershave on my dick once and I will never, ever do it again. It burned like hell and felt like it was gonna fall off. It's interesting that some people can get away with that.

hmm, thank you all for the tips, the are very enlightening. If, as i suspect, after shave is too intense, maybe a lotion of some kind? something to ease the irritation? I think i will try using my electric razor more. I have very loose skin around my base, which is part of what makes it difficult. I had a surgery several years back for scrotalization of my penis, basically took off too much skin at circumcision, so a lot of the skin that covers my dick is actually thicker skin from my testes. it doesn't look god aweful or anything, but it is definitely different skin in texture and thickness.

aHH!!! I just tried the electric razor, and it is sooo irritating and cuases bleeding!!! cannot do that! i dont get it, my razor isn't exactly good but it works on my face just fine.

Have you ever considered permanent laser hair removal? Is not all that expensive and would save you a lot of time and frustration it sounds like

I have, but I am scared. Some people say it can reduce sensation permanently. If it wasn't for that, I would front the money in a heartbeat.

I agree with Steve, there isn't much feeling in the first 3/4 of the shaft anyways.
It may be worth your time to at least get a consultation, perhaps they would have a good answer if nothing else

I guess i never really thought about it too much, the skin on the bottom 3/4 of the shaft really isn't that easily physically aroused... if someone is doing something there it is mental, or that skin is tugging on the glans and skin close to it i am lacking the word for.

Has anyone had laser hair removal down here on these forums? Where should I start?
